Cee Lo Green To Make Acting Debut In Remake Of Musical 'Sparkle'
Singer Cee Lo Green will make his big screen acting debut in a planned remake of movie musical Sparkle, alongside Whitney Houston and Jordin Sparks.
The original 1976 film, about three Harlem, New York-based sisters who form a group in the late 1950s, is set for a revamp with Sparks as the title character and Houston in a starring role - her first acting job in more than 15 years.
Now the "F**k You" hitmaker, who has previously only worked on TV and in animated movies - like the upcoming Hotel Transylvania - has also been tapped for a featured part in the project.
Director Salim Akil will take charge of the film, while R&B icon R. Kelly will provide the score, reports industry paper Daily Variety.
