When Jared Michael decided to take a selfie as a train passes by he got more than he bargained for.

Canadian Michael attempted to get as close to the train tracks as he could while on vacation in Peru, and claims he was a "safe" distance behind the edge of the platform, but it was still close enough for a conductor to reach out his foot and kick Michael in the side of the head.

Let that be a lesson to you!

Michael is heard saying, "Wow! That guy kicked me in the head! I think I got that on film!" in his 11-second video.

Before you start thinking Michael will be filing a frivolous lawsuit against the train company and the town in which it happened, he's gone on to realize that maybe he got what he deserved.

"I tried to take a selfie while a train passed a "safe" distance behind," Michael captioned his video on YouTube. "I guess I was still too close and got kicked in the head."

"Honestly, even the truth is a little ridiculous and it does make me look stupid," he told Canada's CTV on Thursday. "But it was an accident and I got it on film and I think it would have been a shame to just throw it away."

Michael's video, which he posted on Tuesday, had gotten over 10 million hits on YouTube.
