Bosnia and Hong Kong honored martial arts legend Bruce Lee by unveiling statues of the icon on what would have been his 65th birthday. Lee passed away in 1973 while filming The Game of Death. Conspiracy theories surround his death, but he allegedly died from a cerebral edema. Lee is widely known for his films Fists of Fury, The Chinese Connection, Enter the Dragon, and Return of the Dragon, as well as for his portrayal of Kato on The Green Hornet.

Whatever the circumstances of his death, Lee's legend did not die with him. For several years thereafter, "new" films appeared composed of outtakes and stock footage from previous Lee films. The actor’s son, actor Brandon Lee, also died under mysterious circumstances while making The Crow in 1993.

In related news, Pat Morita from the Karate Kid franchise died Thursday, Nov. 24, at age 73 from natural causes. Like Lee, Morita helped spread the appeal of martial arts to a wider audience.
