Britney Spears Joins President Obama's Anti-Bullying Crusade
Britney Spears is using her star power to fight bullies as part of U.S. President Barack Obama's latest campaign.
The American leader and his wife Michelle are hosting a bullying prevention conference in the White House on Thursday and the pop superstar is lending her support to the cause.
Taking to her Twitter.com page, the Toxic hit-maker has issued a plea to put an end to taunting in schools, following a recent spate of teen suicides in the U.S. that were linked to bullying.
Spears writes, "Stop bullying now. Anti bullying is an issue very close to my heart. I am honored that President Obama & the First Lady asked me to join this campaign."
The singer and mom-of-two also posted a link to a video of the Obamas urging kids to "treat each other with respect".
