AMC drama Breaking Bad took the top prize at this year's Television Critics Association (TCA) Awards Saturday night, landing the Program of the Year award.

The show, which enters its final season next week, beat out last year's winner, Game of Thrones, along with stiff competition from The Americans, House of Cards, and The Walking Dead.

The 220-plus members of the association also voted top honors to "Game of Thrones" (best drama), HBO movie Behind the Candelabra (best movies, miniseries or specials) and F/X series "The Americans" (best new show).

CBS' The Big Bang Theory tied with NBC's Parks and Recreation for best comedy series; and Barbara Walters was given the career achievement award.

"These were not easy choices for our membership because there were so many deserving nominees," TCA president Candace Havens told The Hollywood Reporter. "In a year that saw a lot of great television, the TCA Awards winners represent the best of the best."
