The Flick: The Double has a fantastically witty and clever script - even when you know key plot elements there’s more surprises to be had.  It’s a difficult film tactic, but alongside the taunt direction by Michael Brandt, it actually helps keep some of the familiar elements fresh.  Also the casting, while on the outside may seem odd, is very calculated, especially with the inclusion of Topher Grace – not exactly what you expect.  (Anyone remember Predators?!)  Plus Gere is always good, Sheen solid and always love seeing the rough and tumble Tamer Hassan.  So while there is familiar hunter/hunted territory being covered here, there’s enough new fertile ground to keep "The Double’s" chase compelling.

Best Feature: The 'Making of' featurette has everyone talking – good show!

Best Hidden Gem: Stephen Moyer is utterly awesome as a vicious Russian killer!

Worth the Moola: For those looking for a familiar thriller ride with some inventive twists, "The Double" is strong enough.
