   Title: The Amazing Spider-Man 2"

   Grade: 1 1/2

Cast: Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx

   Director: Marc Webb

   Rating: PG-13

   Runtime: 141 minutes

Release Company: Sony Pictures Home Entertainment

The Flick: Forget the fact that Andrew Garfield is still way too good looking to play the geeky Peter Parker (glasses don’t equal nerd folks!), forget the fact that this outing has way too many villains and forget that the fact that lazy writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci have recycled almost every moment of this film from other prolific movies.  The true shame of this one is that director Marc Webb has literally adopted the style of everyone around.  Meaning in the first film he at least had a ho-hum low key style he stuck to.  But here he throws in everything but the kitchen sink to please everyone within earshot – goofy action to win over the Sam Raimi fans, darkness to get the Nolan disciples and a pinch of himself for romantic moments that have no heat.  The end result feels like a dish made with too many hands in the kitchen and its one amazing mess indeed.

Best Feature: Best of the bunch here are the 'Nine Deleted Scenes' with Mark Webb Commentary where there is a nice bold dramatic scene between Garfield and presumed dead dad Campbell Scott.

Best Hidden Gem: Paul Giamatti, who only gets two friggin’ scenes in the film, steals the show as the loud and ruckus Aleksei Sytsevich aka The Rhino.  (Who cares that he’s almost not understandable – he kicks ass anyways!)

Worth the Moola: Unlike Raimi’s 5-star second Spidey outing, this is a bigger mess then the first film all due to lack of singlular vision.
