Even though she didn't attend the event, Beyonce was one of the big winners at Sunday night's BET Awards, taking home trophies for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, the FANdemonium Award, and Best Collaboration for "Drunk in Love" with husband Jay Z.

The couple is currently in the midst of their "On The Run" tour and were unable to attend the show in person, but they closed the event with a taped performance of "Partition."

Actor/comedian hosted the show, which kicked off with Pharrell Williams, who sang "Come Get it Bae" with Missy Elliott. The pair also performed their 2003 hit "Pass That Dutch."

Chris Brown, who was recently released from prison, made a suprise appearance, performing his hit song "Loyal." He was joined on stage by Lil' Wayne and Tyga.

Other performers included T.I., Iggy Azaela, Robin Thicke, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Nicki Minaj, John Legend, and Lionel Richie.

Drake won the Best Male Hip Hop Artist award, and Minaj won Best Female Hip Hop Artist for the fifth consecutive time. Lil Wayne's collaboration of artists, Young Money, won Best Group.

The film "12 Years A Slave" took home awards for Best Film, Best Actor (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and Best Actress (Lupita Nyong'o).
