'Bachelorette' Contestant Eric Hill Dies In Paragliding Accident
One of the men vying for Andi Dorfman's heart in the upcoming season of ABC’s Bachelorette has died in a paragliding accident.
Eric Hill, 32, was hospitalized over the weekend following a paragliding accident in Utah. Following several days in a coma, he passed away this morning.
His sister Karen wrote on her Facebook page, "Eric shared his final journey with us this morning as all his immediate family were able to be at his side when he passed away. Thank you to all of your love and support and prayers and fasting. It was amazing to be with so many of his friends and family yesterday in the hospital who came to express their love for Eric.
"He gave us such a gift of a life fully lived and fully shared, and allowed us all to be a part of his last adventure here on earth. It is hard to think of life without his bright spark, but we know he is on to new adventures. We look forward to carrying on his legacy here and greeting him joyfully again someday. I love you so much, little brother!"
Before his time on the show, Eric was embarking on an attempt to visit all 195 countries in the world and document his journey on GoWithEric.com. He had been to 51 countries before taking a break for Bachelorette.
Hill had been eliminated from the show before his accident, and it remains to be seen how ABC will handle the footage they have of Eric.
Host Chris Harrison told E!, "We're all extremely saddened by this news. We enjoyed our time with Eric on the show. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends at this difficult time. He will be missed."
