The Bachelor host Chris Harrison is helping to make a love match off the air. Harrison will officiate a wedding on a float in the 2014 Rose Parade, as part of a contest announced by Farmers Insurance today.
The "Picture Perfect Wedding" event is searching for couples with the most "picture perfect" love story. Today through October 28, Farmers is taking submissions via the company's Facebook page, after which the company will pick their three favorites.
Those three couples will then participate in a series of "wedding and life planning competitions" to earn votes from the public. People can vote for their couple of choice from November 19 to December 29. The pair with the most votes will win the grand prize of having their ceremony take place on the Farmers float in the 2014 Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA on New Year's Day, with Harrison overseeing their special day.
It's not the first time Harrison has served as master of ceremonies for a big event. In 2008, he hosted the American Music Awards pre-show for ABC, alongside Dancing With The Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba and The Sing-Off's Nicole Scherzinger. Since 2009, he's also been on the Emmy Awards red carpet for TV Guide Network.
He's hosted The Bachelor since 2002, with The Bachelorette following in 2003 and Bachelor Pad in 2010.
The new season of The Bachelor, with former Bachelorette hopeful Juan Pablo Galavis in the title role, is set to premiere on January 6, 2014. It will be the show's 18th season.
