Avril Lavigne and Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger got married on Monday, July 1, not over the weekend as previously reported.

The musical couple wed on what is known as Canada Day in their native country. However, they choose to tie the knot at the Chateau La Napoule in Mandelieu near Cannes in France.

The pair invited about 50 guests and had a pre-wedding party and rehearsal dinner over the weekend, according to Usmagazine.com. A source dished: "Yes, they're married... It was a wild, all-night party with drinking, dancing, incredible food and lots of laughter and tears of happiness...

"Avril and Chad had glasses of wine in their hands and were kissing as fireworks popped overhead and sparkled down. It was a magical moment and everyone was overwhelmed!... It was a truly amazing wedding, absolutely magical."

In April, Lavigne revealed the couple has matching tattoos. They were inked during a romantic trip to Paris, France. The tattoo says "Live in the Moment" in French: Vivre le moment present.

It's the second marriage for Lavigne, who was previously married to Sum 41 star Deryck Whibley. It's Kroeger's first marriage.
