Ariana Grande was the victim of a Twitter prank when several people made #ArianasNudesLeaked a trending topic on the social media site.

The offending hashtag began to take off yesterday, a bit early for the usual April Fool's prank. Many of the original tweets with the hashtag were part of a public discussion of how to prank the star (below), but that didn't stop many users from taking the hashtag and assuming it was true.

At one point, someone edited a picture of Ariana on the beach to make it appear censored over her privates. Grande hasn't responded to the hoax – and honestly, we don't think she needs to.

The prank, however, hits close to home for the cast of Grande's show, Sam & Cat. Her co-star on the Nickelodeon production, Jennette McCurdy, has some risque photos leak featuring her posing provocatively in revealing lingerie.

McCurdy said of the photo leak, "To anyone disappointed: I sent those pics to 1 person. You can connect the dots. Shocked someone would stoop so low. I just speak w/ candor." McCurdy most recently had a fling NBA player Andre Drummond, who has since become the target of allegations he gave out the private photos after she revealed details of their romance. Drummond has since denied he leaked the pics.
