Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway read every one of Jane Austen's letters held at the British library to prepare for her role as the revered author. The 24-year-old thoroughly researched the 19th century writer in preparation for playing Austen in Becoming Jane.

She says, "I went to the British Library most days each week - I still have my pass - to read her letters. To be with the same pieces of paper that she had sat in front of was a thrill that I just can't describe."

Hathaway also reveals her initial apprehension in accepting the role, fearing she wasn't good enough to portray the celebrated novelist.

She adds, "I had my reservations about whether I could play her. I did go through a period of complete, total, abject insecurity that I wouldn't measure up to her greatness."
