Amy Winehouse Foundation Launching Next Week
Amy Winehouse's father will officially launch a foundation in his late daughter's name next week.
Mitch Winehouse announced plans to set up The Amy Winehouse Foundation following her sudden death in July, but the grieving dad suffered a setback when an online opportunist decided to register the name as an official company before the former taxi driver could.
Mitch was forced to return the donations he'd already received for the clinic, which he hoped would become a refuge for young Brits struggling with drink and drug addictions, until he could settle the dispute.
He managed to win back the rights to the company and its internet domain name last week and he is now preparing for its big unveiling.
In a post on his Twitter.com page, Mitch writes, "The launch of Amy's foundation 14th September. We will turn our grief into positive action."
Mitch, Winehouse's mother Janis, and her boyfriend Reg Traviss will talk about the singer's death, her career and the new foundation when they appear on Anderson Cooper's new daytime talk show Anderson next week.
The "Rehab" singer was found dead in her London apartment on July 23. She was 27.
