British actress/TV host Amanda Holden has gone back to work on Britain's Got Talent just three weeks after she was left fighting for her life following the birth of her daughter.

The star delivered Hollie Rose on January 23 but she suffered a complication during the birth which left her in a critical condition for three days.

Holden was discharged from hospital after a week under the care of doctors and she returned to work on Saturday to rejoin Simon Cowell on the judging panel of the hit British TV show.

The star was given a standing ovation by the audience as she took her place for auditions in Edinburgh, Scotland, and she revealed doctors had given her the go ahead to return to work.

She said, "I'm now feeling completely well despite everything I've been through. I feel great now. The doctors have given me the all-clear and I feel like I'm bursting with health and energy."

Holden also joked, "I am looking forward to introducing Hollie to everyone on my next trip, teaching Simon how to change dirty nappies (diapers) and leaving them both to discuss her trust fund!"
