A Connecticut teenager is angry over losing on Jeopardy last week after misspelling the answer to the game show's "Final Jeopardy" question. The 8th grader got the question right, but he added an extra "t" to the spelling of "emancipation" and host Alex Trebek ruled against him for the misspelling. Now the teen feels "cheated" and embarassed. Even if he got it right he had no chance of winning as the leader that day landed a $66,000 payday and a new Kids Week record. (story)

Has the Discovery Channel's "Shark Week" jumped the shark? Viewers were upset Sunday night when the cable network kicked off its annual fish fest with a fake documentary titled "Megalodon: The Monster Shark That Lives". Scientists on the special were played by actors and all the evidence and stories about Megalodon still existing were all faked. Perhaps the channel can cap off the week with an airing of SyFy's "Sharknado". (story)

Simon Cowell may have gotten pal Andrew Silverman's wife Lauren pregnant, but their fling reportedly didn't last long. The couple, who were spotted last fall getting close on a rented yacht, apparently hooked up around 11 weeks ago, but Simon bailed on the relationship over six weeks ago, before he knew Lauren was expecting his child. Who is the new Doctor Who? Scottish actor Peter Capaldi, that's who. British TV network BBC One made the big announcement that Capaldi will take over for Matt Smith as the 12th doctor on the series, which will celebrate its 50th year on the air this fall. The big reveal came during a special aired on BBC One in Britain and in the U.S. on BBC America. (story)

Lady Gaga blasted Russian leaders over their treatment of gay citizens in an online rant. The singer was accused of breaking immigration laws in the country for accepting payment for a performance in St. Petersburg while there on a tourist visa (apparently a no-no), and during the same gig she also was accused of illegally promoting homosexuality during her show. Mumford & Sons hired funny guys Jason Bateman, Will Forte, Ed Helms and Jason Sudeikis to star in their latest music video, "Hopeless Wanderer." The video pokes fun at the band and it isn't obvous that they have stand-ins right away. (story)
