An overzealous Alec Baldwin fan has been arrested in New York City on suspicion of stalking the star after turning up outside the actor's Manhattan home.

Canadian actress Genevieve Sabourin allegedly professed her love to the newly-engaged funnyman in a series of emails and text messages but, upon receiving no response, the Montreal native jetted to Baldwin's home in the Hamptons on March 31st, prompting the 30 Rock star to file a police complaint.

On Sunday night, the 40 year old showed up at Baldwin's Manhattan residence, causing a second security scare.

The actor, who was not home at the time, quickly alerted the authorities and she was later taken into custody on charges of aggravated harassment and stalking.

According to the New York Post, Baldwin crossed paths with Sabourin on the set of 2002 movie The Adventures of Pluto Nash, for which he filmed a small cameo appearance.

Baldwin's representative, Matthew Hiltzik, tells, "As you know, stalking is a serious issue, so we've turned this matter over to the New York Police Department."
