Adele Pulls Out Of Mercury Music Prize Performance
Adele has been forced to pull out of a planned performance at the Mercury Music Prize announcement ceremony on Tuesday night due to illness.
A chest infection prompted the British soul sensation to cancel the start of her U.K. tour in Plymouth on Sunday, and she also postponed a show in Bournemouth on Monday.
And now she has scrapped plans to perform at the awards ceremony, which she was the favorite to win for her hit album "21." (She lost)
Adele will still attend the ceremony in London.
Her cancellation is a big blow for Mercury Music Prize organizers, who were hoping all 11 shortlisted acts would be able to perform at the annual ceremony for the first time.
Other nominees include Elbow, James Blake, Anna Calvi, Tinie Tempah, PJ Harvey and Ghostpoet.
The winner of the coveted album award will receive $32,000.
