Actress Skye McCole Bartusiak Dies At 21
Actress Skye McCole Bartusiak, who played Mel Gibson's young daughter in 2000's "The Patriot" and Michael Douglas' kidnapped daughter in 2001's "Don't Say A Word," was found dead at her Texas home on Friday. She was just 21.
Few details surrounding the young star's death have been revealed, only that she was found in a "garage apartment" at her Houston, Texas home, according to TMZ.com.
The actress "died in her sleep" and police suspect that there was no foul play involved. Authorities are now awaiting autopsy results and toxicology tests to help determine why she died.
The actress guest starred on numerous TV series, including an eight-episode run on "24" during the 2002-03 season.
Bartusiak is the second star of "The Patriot" under the age of 30 to pass -- in 2008 actor Heath Ledger died from a prescription drug overdose.
