Part one of a two-part X-Files drama, "Piper Maru" originally aired February 9, 1996. After discovering the wreckage of a mysterious aircraft that was shot down during WWII, the crew of a French salvage ship succumbs to a strange and inexplicable illness. As if this wasn't enough, the captain of the freighter claims to have seen a living pilot still trapped within the submerged wreckage. Investigating, Mulder and Scully conclude that the doomed aircraft was a UFO -- but that's not the end of the story as far as Scully is concerned.
