The third season of The X-Files began where the second season left off -- with the September 22, 1995, episode "The Blessing Way." In this follow-up to the previous season's "Anasazi," Mulder is nursed back to health by a group of Navajo Indians following an explosion in a train. Meanwhile, Scully, still believing herself responsible for Mulder's supposed death, faces possible expulsion from the FBI. The episode comes to a climax when it seems that Mulder's own superior, Assistant FBI Director Skinner (Mitch Pileggi), is part of a sinister conspiracy.
