Investigating the death of a two-year-old child, Mulder and Scully carefully scrutinize a photograph of the accident scene. Determining that a poltergeist was responsible for the child's demise, the two agents head to Arlington, VA, to interview the witnesses of the tragedy. There, they are confronted by the dead child's eccentric grandmother Golda (Lilyan Chauvin), who insists that her family is headed for extermination at the hands of the victim's "possessed" older brother.
