Declared clinically dead, Jack Willis (Christopher Allport), Scully's former boyfriend and a fellow FBI agent, is revived on the operating table. While in a state of limbo, Willis' consciousness was taken over by the bank robber whom he has just killed in a shoot-out. As is often the case, Scully refuses to believe that this metamorphosis has taken place, but Mulder is convinced that Jack Willis is no longer the real Jack Willis.
