Missy Elliott searching for inspiration for new music

Rapper Missy Elliott has blamed a lack of inspiration for the delay in releasing a follow-up to 2005's The Cookbook, insisting she will only put out a new album once it is perfect.

The Work It hitmaker scrapped plans for a 2007 project, then titled The Countdown, after a number of tracks leaked online illegally, and she has been keeping busy in the studio ever since.

Her longtime collaborator and producer pal Timbaland claimed in 2012 that she was preparing to make a solo chart comeback that summer (12), but fans are still waiting for new Missy material two years later.

GLAAD Says New Series 'Work It' Contributes To 'Transphobia'

Producers behind upcoming TV series "Work It" have come under fire from gay rights advocacy groups for poking fun at cross-dressers.

The comedy, which is set to premiere on January 3, centres around two men who disguise themselves as women to land jobs in a struggling economy as female sales representatives.

But officials at the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) organisation have condemned the show's premise and slammed its creators for shooting a series that teaches fans it's OK to mock those with actual gender-identity issues.

ABC Cuts Seven Episodes From Third Season Of 'Cougar Town'
