Devised by actors Burt Reynolds and Bert Convy, the American TV game show Win Lose or Draw was strikingly similar to the board game Pictionary. On each episode, celebrity contestants tried to guess a name or phrase using hastily drawn sketches as clues (one TV historian described the program as "Jeopardy with pictures"). The British version of Win Lose or Draw premiered in 1988, one year after the American original, and lasted until 1995, thereby outliving its role model by five years. Danny Baker was the first host for the British edition, succeeded by Shane Richie and then Bob Mills. A daytime children's version of Win Lose or Draw surfaced on British TV in 1993, with Darren Day as emcee. Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
