14 Shows We Wish Were Still On Air

14 Shows We Wish Were Still On Air
Admit it, both network and cable television just isn't what it used to be. Weekly series' have been for the most part, replaced for 12-episode arcs, reality television and non-interesting docudramas that do nothing to enhance the television landscape. Where's the friendship? The fun? The drama? The suspense? It makes viewers long for the days of when you looked forward to watching your favorite show every week and dissected it with your pals the next day and for days after. Some of the best are long gone, but fans still clamor for just one more episode. How many of these shows were you addi...

2010 Year In Entertainment Review: March

January 1st, 2011 1:00pm EST
Lil Wayne
It was a shocking way to start the spring as March saw two of Hollywood's biggest star couples announce break-ups - Kate Winslet parted ways with her second husband Sam Mendes after seven years and Sandra Bullock's Oscar win was overshadowed after she found out partner Jesse James had cheated on her.

More scandals came as the month progressed, with fiery supermodel Naomi Campbell accused of attacking her driver by striking him on the head, and Michael Jackson's mum Katherine visited by welfare officials in Los Angeles over allegations one of her grandkids had purchased a stun gun.

How 'Modern Family' Is Saving The Family Sitcom

Modern Family
This article hopefully will serve as an adequate mea culpa. In a fall article we mentioned that 'Modern Family' was weak, formulaic, and full of hyperbolic stereotypes. In short, not worth staying on the ABC schedule. It did not take the recent Golden Globe nomination for Best TV Series- Musical or Comedy to change our view.

Thanks to a day off and time to kill on Hulu, we watched the second episode of the show. Needless to say, lunch was skipped, all remaining episodes were viewed, and we realized how unrepresentative a pilot can be. Now we are such unwavering fans of the show th...

Spotlight On Movies That Became Musicals

The Little Mermaid
Fans of movie musicals know that most of their favorites, like "Grease," "West Side Story," "The Sound of Music," and "Oklahoma!" were adapted from popular Broadway plays. However, the trend in recent years has been to flip that formula around by taking a big-screen hit and trying to turn it into a small-stage sensation.

Disney has had great success with its theatrical adaptations, starting in 1994 with the critically-acclaimed "Beauty and the Beast." The hits kept coming with stage productions of "The Lion King," "Mary Poppins," and, most recently, "The Little Mermaid."

'Tis the renewal season, and shows from every network are breathlessly awaiting the news. The small rated shows are getting the goodbye cakes ready, while the juggernauts are breaking out the champagne.

This charming little sitcom is closing its third season soon, and it averages about 8.7 million viewers an episode. Recently it gained more notice with a cameo by Britney Spears, but this long deserved attention is fleeting, and tragically it may never gain the popular notice that it ri...

While we can't make any guarantees about which series will get the vote of confidence, here are some promising players to keep...

This is an attempt to rectify that and garner them the recognition they so rightly dese...

HBO has lost many of the signature shows that made it a household name. I guess part of the fun is realizing that the musical guests are generally more famous than the actual cast. This is why I've decided to create a dream cast list for "Dancing with the Stars." I tried to include a mix of "talent" just as the real show does, along with one or two obscure choices:
