Gabe Kotter (Gabe Kaplan) is a New York City high school teacher dealing with a bunch of unruly misfits known as the Sweathogs. The Sweathogs are a group of underachievers that include Vinnie Barbarino (John Travolta), the group's wisecracking leader; Juan Epstien (Robert Hegyes), a Jewish Puerto Rican; dimwitted Arnold Horshack (Ron Palillo); and streetwise Freddie "Boom-Boom" Washington (Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs). A former Sweathog himself, Kotter tries to reach out to his students by relating his own experiences, but he is often hindered by Vice Principal Michael Woodman (John Sylvester White). The series was on air 1975-79.
