Chuck Norris ensures his young children don't watch the violent scenes in his action movies by making a special family-friendly version for them.

The veteran action hero appeared in a number of brutal movies during the 1970s and 1980s, before toning down the violence in his latter films and hit TV show Walker, Texas Ranger.

Norris stars in Sylvester Stallone's upcoming The Expendables 2 and is said to have asked for the film be downgraded from a restrictive 'R' rating to a PG-13 for his young fan base.
