'The Voice' Recap: Season 6 Battle Rounds, Part 4
It's hard to get excited about The Voice finishing up its battle rounds now that we know there's more battle rounds in store around the corner. Nonetheless, the final handful of first-round fights concluded on Tuesday, so here's who made it through to the Top 32.

1. Team Adam: Cary Laine (4 chairs in blind auditions) vs. Sam Behymer (2 chairs), "Give Me Love"

Here's an interesting way to star the evening: two talented artists on Adam's team that we'd honestly rather keep around. But one of them's gotta go. Their coach hands them an Ed Sheeran song in hopes that they'll "meet in the middl...

'The Voice' Recap: Season 6 Battle Rounds, Part 3

March 25th, 2014 8:26am EDT
The Voice
The Voice is back with six more battles, and only a handful of steals remaining. Let's break down the matchups, the winners, and who gets one of those lucky second chances - one from Blake, one from Shakira and two for the very discerning Usher.

1. Team Adam: Austin Ellis (1 chair in blind auditions) vs. Josh Kaufman (4 chairs), "Happy"

On paper, it's a one-sided battle over a song that you've probably heard two dozen times by now. But it's so not that simple. Advisor Aloe Blacc thinks the pairing will help "to show how diverse soul music is." Adam wants to see more vocally from Josh and ...

'The Voice' Changes Format Again: What Does It Mean?

'The Voice' Changes Format Again: What Does It Mean?
On Tuesday, NBC announced a handful of changes to The Voice, confirmed the return of the hotly contested Twitter save, and revealed that Coldplay frontman Chris Martin will join the show as another guest mentor. As the network once again shakes up its biggest hit, we're here to give you the breakdown of each change and what impact it may have on Season 6.

1. Chris Martin will be the "key advisor" for the next phase of competition.

The Coldplay singer's (pictured above) addition follows the appointment of OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder, who was named the show's in-house songwriter and producer ...

The Voice
We're now halfway through The Voice's battle rounds, and there were six more head-to-head matchups that went down on Tuesday night. Which also happened to be coach Adam Levine's birthday. And the day that two Team Adam alumni released new music. Here's who won, who lost, and who got one of the five second chances remaining in the competition.

1. Team Shakira: Clarissa Serna (4 chairs in blind auditions) vs. Jeremy Briggs (2 chairs), "Cold As Ice"

The two rockers on Shakira's team are paired together on a Foreigner song. Shakira compliments Jeremy's range, while advisor Miranda Lambert li...

Tony Lucca Returns With 'Drawing Board' EP

March 18th, 2014 12:20pm EDT
Tony Lucca
Less than a year after making a splash with his With The Whole World Watching EP, Tony Lucca is back with a new acoustic record, Drawing Board.

The five-song EP features the title track as well as the songs "All My Friends," "Nashville," "Los Angeles (In The Rear View)" and "My Love." For those of you who somehow still haven't heard him outside of Season 2 of The Voice, the album is typical Tony Lucca material: soulful, simple music that's honest and without an ounce of pretention.

Especially when listened to in conjunction with Whole World Watching, Drawing Board gives a sense of how muc...

'The Voice' Recap: Season 6 Battle Rounds Begin, Part 1

'The Voice' Recap: Season 6 Battle Rounds Begin, Part 1
Now that The Voice has picked its Top 48, it's time to see what they're made of. We're set for 24 head-to-head battles, with each coach having two steals to use in this phase of competition, ultimately leaving only eight artists standing on each team. Got that? Good, let's get started.

1. Team Usher: Biff Gore (4 chairs in blind auditions) vs. T.J. Wilkins (3 chairs), "Ain't Too Proud To Beg"

Usher matches two R&B artists on a classic R&B hit. Advisor Jill Scott calls their initial approaches "a complete contrast," unsurprising because there's a 20-year age - and therefore experience - di...

'The Voice' Recap: Who Won The Final Four Spots?

March 12th, 2014 8:29am EDT
'The Voice' Recap: Who Won The Final Four Spots?
There are only four spots left on The Voice, and just one night left in which to fill them. Thankfully, since this is only an hour-long episode, there shouldn't be much time for filler. Let's see who gets the distinction of being the last person added to each of the coaches' teams.

New Yorker Joe Trombino bats leadoff here, but his version of Al Green's "Love and Happiness" doesn't initially impress our coaches. "He's too behind the beat," says Adam, and indeed Joe seems a little too caught up in his dance moves than the vocal performance, a fatal flaw for many Voice hopefuls. He goes home...

'The Voice' Recap: 80's Night With Blake Shelton

March 5th, 2014 8:31am EST
The Voice
As we finish the second week of Season 6 auditions on The Voice, the teams are filling up. Defending champion Adam and Usher each have only 5 spots left, while Shakira is half-complete with 6 open spaces, and Blake is bringing up the rear, looking for 8 more artists. Who will the coaches discover tonight?

Maybe it'll be Megan Ruger, who looks like the distant cousin of Season 3's Michaela Paige. Megan performs "Just Like A Pill" by Pink, which gives her big shoes to fill, because the last person to audition with a Pink song was Season 5 champ Tessanne Chin. (It's worth noting that NBC cen...

'The Voice' Recap: More Twins, More Arguing, More Montages
When last we left The Voice Season 6, Teams Adam and Usher had 4 of their 12 artists selected, while Team Shakira had 3 and Team Blake only 2. Who will get the lucky call-ups (0r button-pushes) tonight?

Batting leadoff is Ryan Whyte Maloney, who's looking forward to being able to make music his career, and not just his hobby. Ryan's version of "Lights" attracts Adam and Blake simultaneously, and then Shakira follows right afterward, apparently keeping good on her promise to push every time Blake does. Usher finally joins the party just as the song is drawing to a close, making Ryan yet ano...

'The Voice' Recap: Season 6 Blind Auditions, Part 2

'The Voice' Recap: Season 6 Blind Auditions, Part 2
In the first night of Season 6 auditions on The Voice, Team Blake picked up 1 of 12 singers, Team Adam and Team Shakira landed 2 and Team Usher a leading 3. There are still plenty of spots to fill, though, so let's get to it.

We start off with another returning artist, Delvin Choice, who comes armed with Donny Hathaway's "A Song For You." That piece was pretty much killed by Jesse Campbell in Season 2, but Delvin nails it himself, earning three quick button pushes from Adam, Shakira and Blake. Usher waits until almost the last moment, but he's finally persuaded, too. Delvin is understandab...

'The Voice' Recap: Season 6 Premiere Blind Auditions, Part 1
And we're back! After a quick three-month break, The Voice is looking for its sixth champion, beginning with a fresh round of blind auditions in front of Adam, Shakira, Usher and Blake. Here's what happened on premiere night.

Of course, every season has to start with a coach performance, and we have to say Blake and Shakira make an even better pair than Blake and Christina did. They sing Shakira's "Whenever, Wherever" and Blake's "Boys Round Here" and improve both songs. Then Usher starts the whole group off on Maroon 5's "Love Somebody." That segues into Adam performing "Without You," whi...

Cee Lo's best finish on The Voice was having the runner-up (Juliet Simms, season 2) - which Usher has already matched (Michelle Chamuel, season 4). No word yet on who will re...

Then you get eliminated, and you go home, and everything is going just as it should go. But it's not as fast-paced as the show, so you feel like ...

With all the attention we give to The Voice's coaches, it's important not to overlook the person who keeps the show on course: host and producer Carson Daly.

Quite simply, the show wouldn't be the same without Carson, who reminds us on a weekly basis that hosting is a whole lot more than reading off a TelePrompter into a microphone. It's his job to keep the show on target and on time, no matter what. We're not just talking when one of the coaches goes off on a tangent during their comments; this is the guy who steered the ship during triple-digit heat with no air conditioning.

'The Voice' Results: Who Are The Top 12?

NBC is stretching The Voice to three nights during the first live week again this season, giving us an entire hour on Thursday night to reveal which eight artists won't make it into the Top 12.

Here's how it goes: of the five singers currently on each team, two advance to next week based on the results of America's vote. A third will be saved by their coach. The unlucky pair remaining are sent packing. And since we've got to fill an entire hour and we only have four teams, there's some filler in there, too.

That comes in the form of Season 5's first group performances. Team Blake comes to...
