Melissa Joan Hart axes Kickstarter campaign over lack of interest

May 15th, 2013 3:10am EDT
Melissa Joan Hart
Melissa Joan Hart pulled the plug on her online fundraising campaign on Monday (13May13) after failing to pull in donations.

The Sabrina, the Teenage Witch star launched a Kickstarter.com drive last month (Apr13) to fund her first "sexy and adult" movie in a bid to shake off her clean-cut image.

But clearly fans were not so keen on the former child actress' plans and the blonde was forced to axe the campaign after just $51,000 (£32,903) trickled in.

Hart initially aimed to raise $2 million (£1.29 million) for the project, entitled Darci's Walk of Shame, by 26 May (13).

The actress' dis...

'Scream 4': Another Movie, Another Dollar

April 14th, 2011 2:02pm EDT
Scream 4
With the release of "Scream 4" on Friday, April 15, Wes Craven will finally have an answer to the question: Can the "Scream" movie franchise be resurrected as easily as the ghost faced killer? It’s been over a decade since the last installment of the "Scream" series was released and now the old gang, at least what’s left of it, is back at it again. Given most of the original cast has been killed off and the remaining ones have aged disgracefully into “Cougar Town” and Betty Ford during the significant time lapse since the last film’s release, Craven has decided to the inject some ne...

TV Shows On The Verge Of Jumping The Shark

July 15th, 2009 11:23am EDT
24
The concept of 'jumping the shark' is a fatal one for many involved in television. It all began in the tragic episode of 'Happy Days' in which iconic character, The Fonz, literally jumps over a shark, thus placing a death toll on the rest of the series. Decades later, some TV writers have playfully used the term in decidedly ironic tones, both 'The X-Files' and 'Supernatural' have episodes titled 'Jump the Shark' (Note: a portion of 'Supernatural's' crew are 'X-Files' alum) that tiptoe the line of throwing a series into oblivion.

We will have a few current TV shows that we believe ar...

Scrubs
With news last week that ABC was considering carrying on Scrubs for a ninth season, the question buzzing around Hollywood was: Can Scrubs go on without J.D.?

The eighth season was supposed to be the last. After NBC decided not to renew the show last year, ABC, which had been producing the show since its premiere in 2001, took up the option to air the series, with the expectation that it would be the final season. Most of the main cast members have either stated that they wouldn't return for another season (Zach Braff, Judy Reyes) or have been cast in new television pilots (Donald...

It usually takes awhile for for me to warm up to any new series; this was not the case with Party Down -- premiering tonight (Friday) on Starz -- which is perhaps the funniest new show I've seen this season.

Adam talked about the new series, what it was like working with Will Ferrell in Step Brothers and why so many college age students watched his old show, Boy Meets World.

Sometimes an actor comes along who just has a certain something that makes you want to stop and watch. He may just be in the background - where the job, really, is to be natural but not cause any attention to themselves or take away from the action in the forefront of the scene - but his magnetism may be enough to draw the eye over and back, making the viewer want to know more about the character he is supposed to be playing.

Chances are, however, if audiences are noticing this guy so are producers and casting directors, and soon he may be rewarded with a few lines here and there, bum...

Character Additions That Nearly Ruined A TV Show (Or Did)

June 10th, 2008 8:45am EDT
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
It's been said that a TV show is only as good as the characters that occupy it. During the first season of series, the writers introduce us to certain main characters that the show is going to revolve around. Once a season ends and a new one is about to start all bets are off because the writers don't want to see the ratings drop.

Their solution? Bring in new characters.

Whether they were added in advance or brought on spontaneously, new characters are added in hopes of appealing to an even bigger audience and to increase a particular show's ratings. This doesn't always turn out ...
