When Latka (Andy Kaufman) announces that his mother is coming from the Old Country to pay him a visit, the cabbies expect to meet a shy, wizened old lady. But Greta Gravas (Susan Kellerman) turns out to be a busty, Junoesque blonde with an insatiable appetite for food...among other things. Catching Greta in the act of "nik-nik" with Alex (Judd Hirsch), an outraged Latka demands that Alex make an honest woman of his mother by marrying her.
