'Survivor: South Pacific' The Two Hour Finale And Re-Union

12/19/2011 4:05pm EST
The winner and sole survivor is revealed during the season final
It’s been a crazy season. Coach and Ozzy both returned to play for a third – and final? – time, and were determined to win. Each chose dramatically different strategies. Ozzy played with all of his heart. Coach ran a Christian ship on the sea of loyalty and integrity. Can one of these two win the million dollars?

First off, Brandon tottered into Ozzy’s Redemption Island Pleasure Dome, after being blindsided at Tribal Council. Ozzy interviewed that Brandon “wasn’t blindsided, he gave up the immunity necklace. Brandon’s playing the game as though he’s playing with God, but he’s not; he’s pla...

'Survivor: South Pacific' Recap – Are You There, God? It’s Me, Brandon

12/15/2011 11:41am EST
Brandon Hantz
The alliance of Coach, Brandon, Sophie, Albert and Rick (who?) has lasted 31 days, with their faithful servant Edna by their sides. Last week, Edna was voted to Redemption Island to duel against Ozzy. Albert’s machinations have begun to irritate Sophie, and Brandon’s just plain crazy. With no ‘others’ to vote for, who’s leaving tonight?

After the vote, Coach and crew were ecstatic that they had successfully carried through their plan to be the Final Five. So of course, Brandon suggested a prayer of thanksgiving. While they prayed, Coach was busily mentally deconstructing his ‘honesty, loya...

'Survivor: South Pacific' - 'He's Crazy' Says Brandon Hantz' Daddy

Survivor: South Pacific
Last week, on Survivor; during Tribal Council, big mouthed Brandon outlined the alliance’s plans to get rid of Cochran, and then Edna. Cochran took the long walk to Redemption Island, and Edna has been left scrambling to stay in the game.

This week, Cochran is greeted at Redemption by Ozzy, who asks if Cochran has learned a lesson. Cochran admits he got screwed and was humiliated. Ozzy is surprisingly kind as he says, “I’m sorry, buddy. It happens to the best of us.” Cochran admits that he ‘drank the kool-aid,’ but when Ozzy says that the best way to get back at the others would be to vote...

'Survivor South Pacific' - No Happy Ending For Cochran's Fake Birthday

12/1/2011 12:20pm EST
Survivor South Pacific
Last week, on Survivor – was a recap, but basically, we saw a lot of previously unseen footage that appeared to show that Coach was controlling the remaining tribe mates through flattery, prayer, and some killer beach Tai Chi. Ozzy, Dawn and Whitney awaited their duel (truel?) at Redemption Island, and the seven left in camp would have to battle it out to stay on the island.

Following the last Tribal Council, both Edna and Cochran looked like the logical next choices for ousting. Edna seemed resigned, but Cochran continued to buy into Coach’s ‘family’ plan. Manson family plan, more like.

'Survivor: South Pacific' - The Thanksgiving Week Recap

11/24/2011 8:57pm EST
Survivor: South Pacific
It’s all about the scenes we didn’t see … and that’s why I MUST know what I have previously had to intuit. Welcome to the recap of Survivor: South Pacific to date. During this episode, called “A Closer Look,” I discovered that some people don’t look so good up close. And I certainly didn’t find any treasures in this trash pit.

Apparently Jeff Probst was not very impressed with Ozzy’s laid back attitude at the onset. Ozzy was more about the swimming, and getting the other tribe mates to strip down to their underwear for that first dip. You can tell a lot about people by the way they reveal...

'Survivor: South Pacific' Episode 10 - You Can't Take 7 People To The End

11/17/2011 2:41pm EST
Survivor: South Pacific
Last week’s vote left Ozzy and Jim the newest happy couple at Redemption Island. Jim, bloody but unbowed, is convinced that the Coach-run ex Upolu tribe will now take Edna and Cochrane to the final.

At Te Tuna, Coach apologizes for what he’s going to say, but says it anyway; Jim is the worst kind of guy because he’s friendly to your face, but will drop you when the chips are done. But with him gone, the rest of the tribe has nothing to worry about. Trust him! (umm, except for that pesky little voting out thing they’ll be going to again, but besides that, nothing at ALL to worry about!)

Survivor : South Pacific 'We’re Picking Them Off, One By One'

11/10/2011 11:28am EST
Previously on Survivor – the merge, Ozzy survived Redemption Island, and Cochran betrayed his team for a cozier relationship with Coach’s tribe.

This week – if Cochran thought he was disliked before, he’s about to learn what it’s like to be the most hated person on a desert island. My hope, that Cochran had an actual double agent plan, is immediately dashed when Cochran gives Ozzy his whiny excuse for the blindside: “I didn’t want my fate to be decided by picking a stone out of a bag.” Ozzy is surprisingly low key, but even so, Brandon scoots between the two, intent on protecting Cochran....

'Survivor: South Pacific' Episode 8 – Is Cochran A Double Agent Or A Clucking Chicken?

11/3/2011 10:22am EDT
SURVIVOR: SOUTH PACIFIC Edna Ma and John Cochran
Last week, Ozzy made a lot of assumptions when he opted to martyr himself, and be sent to Redemption Island, his plan being to beat Christine at the duel, and re-enter the game. Firstly, he assumed the merge was imminent. Next, that he’d beat Christine. And third, that Cochran would give him back the idol upon his return. You know what they say about assumptions, right?

Post Council, the Savaii tribe wandered home, wearily wondering if they’d done the right thing. If there wasn’t a merge, and they had to depend upon Cochran, they were doomed. Cochran, on the other hand, had taken Ozzy’s of...

Survivor: South Pacific - Ozzy’s Big Adventure And Coach’s New Calling

10/27/2011 10:24am EDT
Is Ozzy Savaii’s salvation? Or the dumbest player in the history of Survivor? Only time will tell. But right here, right now, you’re witnessing the birth of a new DragonSlayer – Coach seems to be morphing into the Island’s new Christian prayer leader. Didn’t he used to be Buddhist or something?

Night 16 on Upolu. Edna interviews that it’s no fun seeing your name on the ballot, but Brandon’s outbursts are making her job of staying on the tribe a lot easier. Even Rick, the silent one, has qualms about keeping Brandon around, especially with the merge getting closer. Coach admits that Brandon...

'Survivor South Pacific' Recap – Ozzy Pouts, Coach Has Clout, Mikayla’s Out

10/20/2011 10:13am EDT
Survivor South Pacific
Last week, Ozzy was blindsided when Keith and Whitney went against his wishes and voted Elyse out of the tribe. He seemed, however, to be angrier about being made to look foolish than at losing his ‘hammock babe.’ He announced to everyone that the alliance is over; he’s now a ‘free agent’ playing solely for himself. No one seemed all that upset at that announcement. In fact, they let him know that if he wanted to go to Redemption Island, he only had to say so. But then he told them that he had the idol. THAT got a rise from everyone.

The next morning, Ozzy’s tribe was even less pleased ...

'Survivor South Pacific' - Taste The Victory OR Zombie Training Camp?

10/13/2011 11:55am EDT
'Survivor South Pacific' - Taste The Victory
We’re now down to 14 Survivors in Survivor: South Pacific. On Savaii, Ozzy’s the man, but Jim and Cochran are plotting his demise. On Upolu, Coach has an uneasy alliance with Russell Hantz’ nephew, Brandon. And on Redemption Island, fierce Stacey is set to battle the even fiercer Christine. Stacey’s still furious with Coach, and what she sees as manipulation and phoniness. She’s determined to get back in the game, and let the other team’s players know about Coach’s control.

Its morning on Upolu, and Brandon politely but passive aggressively wakes everyone for treemail. Brandon is still st...

'Survivor: South Pacific' - Season 23 Episode 4 - Survivalism Of The Strongest

10/6/2011 10:11am EDT
Last week, on Survivor: On Upolu, Coach’s little alliance has been shaken by Brandon’s craziness. On Savaii, Ozzie’s leadership is on the line as he becomes increasingly cozy with Elyse. Jim and Cochran scheme to overthrow Ozzie by getting rid of Elyse.

Brandon starts this week full of apologies and mea culpas for his outbursts and vows that he will be a better man. He’ll start by apologizing to Mikayla, who is still wary of Brandon. He next confesses to Edna, adding that he won’t tell any more lies, so he’s letting her know that there is a ‘core 5’ alliance .. and she’s not in it. Suddenl...

'Survivor: South Pacific' Episode 3 Recap - Reap What You Sow

9/29/2011 11:20am EDT
On "Survivor: South Pacific" Redemption Island, Semhar meets Christine, as she arrives from Tribal Council. Christine feels that Coach had it in for her right from the beginning. Something like the way she had it in for him, perhaps, calling him a ‘temporary’ player on Day 1? Sadly, neither Christine nor Semhar seem to using their ‘redemption’ time to figure out what part they themselves played in being voted off the island.

At Upolu, Mikayla still can’t figure out why Brandon wanted her off the tribe. She knows she’s done nothing to upset him, and realizes that, behind the little country...

'Survivor: South Pacific' Episode 2 - 'He Has Demons.' You Think?

9/22/2011 11:18am EDT
Oh I’m sure, tiny Brendan will never, ever, ever, ever tell anyone that he is Russell Hantz’ nephew. Until he does.

It’s been one whole week on Survivor, or about 5 days if you were actually on the island. Already the tribes are feeling the pain, especially Semhar, on Redemption Island, who’s finding out quickly that being the biggest busted word rap poet on the beat ain’t always a winning combo. ”I gave them my every last strength and they sent me to Redemption Island,” she moans. Uh, Semhar, you totally blew the challenge because you were ‘tired.’ She shivers and hides under her blanket,...

Survivor - Season 23 Episode 1 – Premiere Of Survivor: South Pacific (Upolu, Samoa)

9/16/2011 1:26pm EDT
Survivor South Pacific
From the onset, the tribes are divided into two teams, who await two returning players in the arena of – oh no! Redemption Island. Most pray Russell Hantz isn’t one of the new arrivals. Nope, it’s Benjamin “Coach” Wade and Ozzy Lusth. Upolu, the Blue Tribe, are not thrilled when Coach is made one of them. Ozzy is enthusiastically embraced by Savaii, the Red Team.

Harvard Law student and complete Survivor geek John Cochran nearly wets himself as he interacts with Jeff, Coach and Ozzy. He did a thesis in university on the game/reality show, and has never missed an episode in eleven years....
