Survivor : Worlds Apart Finale – The Only Choice Was Mike
Jeff Probst greets us, live from Los Angeles, where he, the Blue, White and No Collar Survivors, a studio audience, and 27 people competing to be on the next Survivor series, are about to watch the finale AND reunion episode of the current series.

Survivor is once again Number One in the ratings, so let’s all take this time to see who takes home the million dollar prize. I started writing this recap at 7 in the morning, and it’s now 4 p.m.

Out of the eighteen players who began the season, we’re now down to just five; Rodney, Mike, Will, Carolyn and Sierra. The Blue Collar tribe took the l...

At the last Immunity Challenge, Carolyn won her second immunity in a row. At Tribal Council, Mike played his idol, forcing the majority alliance of six to finally turn on each other. Survivor : Worlds Apart
Previously on, Survivor: After the merge, Rodney had control of the majority alliance, as well as a secret alliance with Will, Tyler and Caroline. For Joe, it was a different story; his No Collars and Shirin were on the bottom. And even though he found the clue to the Hidden Immunity Idol, the majority alliance wouldn’t let him out of their sight. Mike beat him to the punch, and found the Idol.

But the real battle for power was between the Blue Collars, who were targeting Jenn, versus the No Collars, who were targeting Kelly, with White Collar in the middle, deciding who would gain control. At Tribal Council, Shirin stuck with the No Collars, while Tyler, Caroli...

Previously on Survivor: Shirin and Max have made themselves outcasts on the White Collar tribe by opting to not wear clothing. The Blue tribe had their own problems, as Mike struggled to get everyone’s work ethics to kick in. No Collar lost another Immunity Challenge, and Nina was sent home.

After Tribal Council, the No Collar tribe told Will that his name had come up twice in the vote because the alliance of three was worried that Nina might have found a Hidden Immunity Idol. Will still believes that he will be the next voted out, should they lose another challenge.

Our contestants have been chosen based on their work styles. The White Collar group (the ones who make the rules,) Blue Collar (the ones who follow the rules,) and No Collar – those crazy freethinkers who live to break the rules. Why, there’s a No Collar fellow right now! You can tell because he looks vaguely like Fabio and has attached white feathers t...

Since Day One, Blood vs Water has been a tale of two tribes heading in opposite directions. Coyopa couldn’t win a challenge, and they weren’t getting along. Hunahpu was unbeaten and living like kings, but even they couldn’t live in peace. To get rid of the ‘snakes’ on his tribe, Drew threw an Immunity Challenge, and found himself voted out of the game.

After Tribal Council, the Hunahpu tribe were shocked but glad to have Drew out of the game. Jon, as Drew’s friend, worried that he’d be the next to go. Jeremy felt like the right move had been made, and that he was now in the tribe's best po...

Survivor 2014
Jeff Probst and crew return to the concept of last year’s successful ‘Blood vs Water” season, with only a few ‘known’ faces, and no returning players.

Jeff made his Nicaraguan introduction via helicopter, as the nine pairs of loved ones, dropped randomly on the island on Day 0, found flint and learned how to make shelter and fire together, before following a map to the gathering place for Day 1.

We briefly met the contestants; John and Jaclyn are college sweethearts. He played football at Michigan State; she was Miss Michigan in 2013. They worry that people will hate them for being the “...

Fall TV 2014: A Night By Night Comparison Of What May And May Not Work

Fall TV 2014: A Night By Night Comparison Of What May And May No
Now that all the big networks have revealed what they’ll be showing us this fall, let’s take a look at what may or may not work.

ABC is essentially playing it safe, and keeping Sunday Night intact. American Crime will swap for Resurrection at midseason. Resurrection was a buzzy drama that started seeing a ratings decline. Not waiting till midseason is probably a smart move. You don’t want to lose any more audience. It’s not a winning strategy, but ABC just doesn’t want to be in last place.

NBC has football, another super safe move. CBS is shaking things up, banishing Amazing Race...

9 Spin-Off Shows That Were Real Hits
Remember what it was like when you were dedicated to one show only, you never missed an episode and hoped your favorite characters (or personalities) would get their turn in the spotlight? Well that did happen to these classic spin-offs, who found their niche in television history and rightly remain some of the most unique and diverse group of programming ever made for television.

1. "The Simpsons"

"The Simpsons" was a cartoon short utilized in the series "The Tracey Ullman Show" during its run from 1987-1990. The show took on a life of its own i...

CBS Renews A Ton Of Shows

The Good Wife
CBS issued renewals to NCIS, NCIS: LA, CSI, Criminal Minds, Person Of Interest, Elementary, Hawaii Five-O, Blue Bloods, The Good Wife, 2 Broke Girls, The Millers, Mom, Mike and Molly, Two and a Half Men, The Amazing Race, Survivor, Undercover Boss, 60 Minutes, and 48 Hours. Add to that the renewal of The Big Bang Theory, and CBS just renewed a whopping 20 shows.

Not being picked up, but still not cancelled, are The Mentalist, Intelligence, Hostages, and The Crazy Ones. I would definitely rule out Intelligence and Hostages. Both failed to grab huge audiences. I think The Mentalist will prob...

Meet The 18 Castaways For 'Survivor: Cagayan' - Themed 'Brawn vs
Can you believe that Survivor will be entering its 28th season? Neither can we.

While hundreds of competitive based reality television shows have come and gone, Survivor continues to, well, survive and flourish. CBS announced the 18 castaways who will compete against each other in a special two-hour premiere , Wednesday, Feb. 26 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT).

The spring edition of Survivor, filmed in Cagayan, a province in the Philippines, will be themed "Brawn vs. Brains vs. Beauty."

The season's cast includes a high-stakes poker player, an attorney, an ex-NFL cheerleader, a nuclear engineer, ...

Fall 2013 TV Report (So Far)

10/5/2013 2:06pm EDT
Sleepy Hollow
Here’s how the Fall TV season has been shaping up.

ABC doesn’t have a lot to celebrate about. Once Upon A Time and Revenge are both down season-to-season, yet up from last season’s finales. So, really, you could say they are even for the night. Their new drama, Betrayal, however is a disappointment. Low ratings. Does ABC have anything ready to replace Betrayal though? They’re already definitely going to cancel the much lower rated Lucky 7 (an almost certainty), can they afford to axe two shows?

CBS has a nice strong lineup of returning shows, all performing well. FOX’s shows are ...

'Survivor: Blood vs. Water' Review: Episode 'Rule In Chaos'

9/26/2013 12:48am EDT
One of the most consistent aspects of Survivor is the slow build. The first episodes of any given season are usually predictable, showing off who is going to leave through the editing. People don’t often betray their alliances or make bold moves until well into the season. So, when we’re teased with a thrilling twist that would allow the underdogs to take over a boring majority alliance, it’s an exciting prospect.

First, let’s start with Redemption Island. I really don’t like this concept because it is a tension killer. The episodes should lead up to the moment when somebody’s Survivor dre...

'Survivor: Blood vs. Water' Season Premiere

9/19/2013 10:29am EDT
Survivor: Blood vs. Water
A lot of people don’t enjoy the recent trend in reality television of bringing back former players to compete again. They’ve had their chance already. Many people want to see a completely new group of characters try their hand at a game we love. However, I’m the opposite. I love when reality shows start to reuse past contestants. It allows us to go into the show already caring about the characters. Plus, since they already know about each other, they have to fight their preconceptions and past mistakes.

The newest season of Survivor (number 27!) is subtitled Blood versus Water. Former play...

'Survivor: Blood Vs. Water' Cast Announced With A New Twist

8/21/2013 1:50pm EDT
Survivor Blood Vs. Water
When "Survivor" returns for its 27th season, former players will compete with - and ultimately against - their loved ones in a fresh twist for the reality show.

Alliances and relationships will be tested and bonds will be broken when mothers, daughters, brothers, spouses and partners compete against each other, raising the question: what is thicker – blood or water?

The upcoming edition will include the return of Redemption Island, where castaways who have been eliminated from the competition can seek redemption and return for a chance to win $1 million.

New this season, however, is lov...

Q&A: Ashley and David Eckstein Celebrate Fandom With 'Her Universe'

3/21/2012 11:15am EDT
Her Universe
One of the joys of fandom is being able to share your passions. And thanks to Ashley and David Eckstein, that just got a lot easier (and cooler) for women.

Representing one's fandoms can be a difficult task for the female gender. I say that from experience; I'm all about showing off my allegiances. One of those happens to be to the San Diego Padres, and I went on a rant when there wasn't a T-shirt for my favorite second baseman, a certain David Eckstein. You can imagine my delight to hear that someone that I am a huge fan of was making it easier for me to represent the things I love.
