Queen Latifah's TV series Single Ladies has been saved from cancellation thanks to bosses at a new U.S. network aimed at black females.

In March (14), executives at America's VH1 network decided not to order a fourth season of the programme, which the rapper, actress and talk show host executive produced via her Flavor Unit Entertainment company, but Latifah has struck a new deal with BET Network's new channel Centric, and the series will pick up where it left off.

Queen Latifah's TV drama series Single Ladies has been cancelled after three years on air.

The rap icon-turned-talk show host served as executive producer via her Flavor Unit Entertainment company, but bosses at America's VH1 network, which broadcasts the show, have decided not to order a fourth season of the programme.

Single Ladies' season three finale will air later this month (Mar14), according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The show, which launched in 2011, followed the love lives of three best friends, played by Charity Shea, Denise Vasi and LisaRaye McCoy.

VH1's Single Ladies is heading toward the end of its third season, with just three episodes to go. BFTV recently spoke with Travis Winfrey, who stars as Omar Kearse on the drama series, to see what we could find out about what's ahead and chat about his first leading role.

Beyonce has made history in America by becoming the first woman to hit the number one spot with her first five studio albums.

The Crazy In Love hitmaker's new self-titled album is officially number one on the Billboard 200 chart after she stunned fans with the surprise release last Friday (13Dec13), selling 617,000 copies during its first week of release.

The superstar's previous solo work - Dangerously in Love, B'Day, I Am... Sasha Fierce, and 4 - all leaped to the top spot upon release.

Only two other artists have achieved the same feat - rapper DMX and folk group the Kingston Trio.

Actress Stacey Dash has quit her role on Queen Latifah's TV show Single Ladies to concentrate on life as a mom.

The Clueless star played fashion boutique owner Val Stokes in the first series of the VH1 comedy, which is filmed in Atlanta, Georgia.
