Socialite Nicole Richie is back behind the wheel a year after she was convicted of driving under the influence (DUI).

The former Simple Life star's license was officially changed from 'suspended' to 'restricted' on September 19th, according to Los Angeles Department of Motor Vehicles records. Richie served 82 minutes behind bars and had to undertake an 18-month anti-DUI course after she was caught driving the wrong way down a freeway ramp road.

As a restricted license holder, Richie can now use her car for work-related activities.

Socialite Nicole Richie is embarrassed about the fuss surrounding her fainting incident on the set of the upcoming new season of The Simple Life - because she only spent 10 minutes in the hospital. The dehydrated star passed out during filming and was rushed to the hospital because there wasn't a medic on the set.

Richie says, "It actually made me really upset because I did not need to go to the hospital at all... I was just tired, and I left after 10 minutes."
