Meanwhile, a domestic call on Julien's house has Danny further convinced of their compatibility as beat partners.
The Strike Team learns from Aceveda that Margos and the Armenians now have their pictures, courtesy of the mole, leaving the team with no option but to go after Margos first. The team's status within the department, however, is threatened when Lem wants out of the unit. Meanwhile, the team enters into a cat and mouse game as Margos tries to trap the Strike Team with a false heroin bust as bait. Vic manages to dupe Margo's henchman and get to Margos, creating a self-defense case for his subsequent execution after which he collars Margo's large heroin supply for the Barn. Despite further talks with Lem, Lem exits the Strike Team, which leaves its future in doubt.
Claudette oversees the Strike Team and Decoy Squad, and the first order of business is a crackdown on prostitutes. A politican brought in for solicitation with one of the hookers has friend David reconsidering his future as a council member. Dutch's investigation of a raped elderly woman leads him to believe it won't be just an isolated incident. Blood and Water
As the Strike Team continues to keep the peace between two warring gangs, Vic tries to get back in the team's good graces, but it will take funds from the Money Train heist to help ensure the success of the gun running ring. When he suddenly finds himself stripped of both his money and the guns at the hands of one of the gangs, he must make his way back to them by following Dutch and Claudette's investigation of a related gang killing. Meanwhile, as the Decoy Squad prepares to hook up with the Barn, an overly confident Julien walks the line between employing firm leadership and unnecessary force, and tells Danny that he doesn't plan on partnering up with her again upon her return.
The Decoy Squad and Strike Team are questionably called into action by Aceveda when two racially charged murders threaten to create local chaos. With Claudette still in hot water, Vic manages to help get the Decoy Squad sent to another department and corals the Strike Team in order to nab the much sought-after murderers. Vic also finds himself clashing with Corinne's new boyfriend when he goes to check on her following an assault, and Danny and Julien later learn Corinne's assailant is the same man they picked up for a hate crime. What Power Is
Aceveda becomes a man on a mission as he hunts down his assailants, Ricky and Juan, but finds his life in serious peril while present at a liquor store holdup. He enlists the help of a cautious Vic and the Strike Team to find Juan, who could possibly I.D. the team if not careful, and tells them to stop at nothing to bring him down. Meanwhile, Claudette and Dutch continue to search for "The Cuddler" rapist, while the Strike Team sets up an innocent criminal to throw the U.S. Treasury off their scent as well as take the heat off of Mara for her mother's theft of some of the money.

Meanwhile, Vic unsuccessfully tries to get an advance on part of his Money Train cut to help pay for his kids' growing medical bills.
The Barn rallies behind Tommy when his ex-wife and son are found murdered and he is brought in for questioning. The incident leads Vic to do whatever he has to to prove Tommy's innocence with an intensity that divides the opinions of Julien and Danny. Vic's group soon finds startling new details that could incriminate Tommy, while Danny honors her deal with David by spilling Julien's involvement in Vic's plan. Vic is also keen on nabbing a list of the marked money from the Money Train heist in David's office, while Dutch's press conference to nab the at-large serial rapist becomes incendiary fodder for the rapist.
Fire in the Hole
Aceveda learns of a mole in the Treasury Department leaking information about the Money Train heist, and the Strike Team must find the mole and plug the information leak to protect themselves. Upon locating the mole, they try, unsuccessfully, to get him out of Los Angeles for his own safety. The Strike Team and the Decoy Squad also find themselves muscling in on two negotiating gangs and are forced to work together, and when Trish and Claudette try to find a member of one of the gangs who is in on a child porn ring, they end up using him to help solve the cases for both police squads. Meanwhile, the problems with Matthew's autism at home worsen for Vic and Corinne.
With the Money Train heist still under investigtion, Vic and the Strike Team go to extreme lengths to keep themselves clean of any ties to the crime. When Aceveda, however, heads up an investigation which ties back to an old, unresolved case of Vic's, the Strike Team's attempt at a defensive strategy is jeopardized.
After Shane conspicuously fails to come to Tavon's hospital bedside after his car accident, Vic goes to Shane's apartment where he confronts Shane and Mara and, after much lying from the couple, coerces the two into talking about the fisticuffs between Shane and Tavon. David tries to bridge the connection between the Money Train heist and the Strike Team by utilizing the mole, hoping to get closer to busting the team. Dutch and Claudette's investigation of the shooting of a public defender leads Claudette to a crisis of conscience when she learns that the lawyer's drug problem was to blame, a fact which could overturn a large number of her convictions. Meanwhile, Julien and Danny try to coral a wild Aceveda political campaigner, and Lem sets most of the Strike Team's money ablaze in a moment of panic and poor judgment.
The Strike Team stumbles into a prescription drug ring after questioning a trigger-happy gangbanger. When Danny is sent in undercover to pose as a drug runner, an elaborate crime setup is uncovered which also involves money-laundering out of a high-end custom automobile dealership, and Vic bargains with the dealer owner to keep a surveillance on any prominent individuals who might be involved. Meanwhile, Dutch keeps the peace between Will and his wife, Joanna, and prepares to question "The Cuddler" rapist, while Vic discovers that his children may be showing early signs of autism.
The Strike Team, hot off the heist of the Money Train, tries to keep Internal Affairs off their trail, but Claudette and Dutch press on as they investigate the murder of two Armenians who may have been involved. The team becomes entrenched in a gun ring which is discovered after a typical drug bust, a ring which plays a part in a possible war between two feuding gangs. Claudette also remains at odds with David as her supposed bump up to the captain position looms, and Aceveda is coaxed by Danny into helping her go back to work. Meanwhile, Julien continues to worry about maintaining his front of masculinity, while Shane attempts to salvage his romance away from the job.
Trish's secret phone call to the Barn for help has a frantic Strike Team rushing to rescue her and Walon on Claudette's orders. Claudette subsequently takes some heat from Walon over her perceived failure to keep him and Trish, who is still missing, from being I.D.'d. Vic uses the conflict to add some tension to the mix, but a disappearance of some Money Train cash leaves the Strike Team with some tension of its own. Meanwhile, Danny works with Dutch, who continues to track "The Cuddler," while Trish and Tommy both take their own drastic measures to ensure Trish's job security.
