Tara Reid
It's "Shark Week," and Tara Reid appeared on Discovery Channel's "Shark After Dark" to talk about the ocean creatures, of which she apprently knows very little about (despite starring in the viral Syfy hit "Sharknado.")

The actress admitted she didn't want to sound stupid when she went on Tuesday night's show, so she "learned a little education on sharks."

She researched whale sharks on the internet, thinking they are made after "a whale and a shark have sex."

She continued, "I realized that whales are mammals and sharks are animals. They have nothing to do with each other...so basically...

A Connecticut teenager is angry over losing on Jeopardy last week after misspelling the answer to the game show's "Final Jeopardy" question. The 8th grader got the question right, but he added an extra "t" to the spelling of "emancipation" and host Alex Trebek ruled against him for the misspelling. Now the teen feels "cheated" and embarassed. Even if he got it right he had no chance of winning as the leader that day landed a $66,000 payday and a new Kids Week record. (story)

Viewers Enraged After Discovery Channel Airs Megalodon Mockumentary

August 5th, 2013 1:07pm EDT
Shark Week
Hundreds of viewers aired their grievances to Discovery Channel on their Facebook page after the network aired a fake documentary entitled "Megalodon: The Monster Shark That Lives" to kick off Shark Week.

Shark Week has been a staple for the Discovery Channel for over twenty five years now, and for that time it has been firmly grounded in science.

That changed lasted night when Discovery aired a special with doctored photos, CGI in video footage, and scientists that don't actually exist. Included was an "unearthed" photo from World War II by the Nazis (of course the Nazis are involved) fe...

Shark Week
Discovery Channel's "Shark Week" kicks off its 23rd year with "Ultimate Air Jaws" on Sunday, August 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Using the very latest in technology, including an HD camera that shoots in super slow motion--2,000 frames per second, or 20 to 30 times slower than "typical" slow motion footage--"Ultimate Air Jaws" slows down the footage of a breaching shark from one second in real time to almost a full minute. The unparalleled resolution provides so much detail that you can literally count every tooth in the shark's mouth.
