Greg Laswell's 'Three Flights From Alto Nido' To Be Released July 8

June 27th, 2008 6:30am EDT
Greg Laswell
Renaissance Man Greg Laswell finds himself released from heartache with Three Flights From Alto Nido, his sophomore full-length album on Vanguard Records, to be released July 8th. Three Flights From Alto Nido is the enigmatically, yet aptly titled third volume of his trilogy of heartbreak and redemption.

In 2006, Laswell's Through Toledo was an intimate account of a devastating experience in his life. How The Day Sounds, a six song EP released earlier this year, served as a bridge toward self-realization while vividly capturing the sense of healing and moving on. Three Flights From...

CBS Adds New Night Of Comedy, Not Much Else For 2008-09 Season

May 15th, 2008 10:59am EDT
New Adventures of Old Christine
Every year, the upfront presentations have a different theme. Ok, so that's not always the case, but it would be pretty cool if it was, right? This year, however, there definitely seems to be a theme emerging. NBC's presentation in April, which seemed to be heralding in an era of change, proved to be a red herring. As this week has shown us, the theme this year is not change. It is stability.

For CBS, leader in overall viewers for the past several seasons (although it is being challenged by Fox in that category this year), sticking with the status quo makes sense. Due to that fac...

'Melrose Place': Where Are They Now?

February 25th, 2008 12:00pm EST
Melrose Place
Sixteen years ago we were first introduced to Melrose Place, an innocent (at least it started that way) spin-off of Beverly Hills, 90210 that took place in a West Hollywood apartment complex. I know as an 8-year-old boy I was excited to see what the lives of 20-something people would be like. I assumed lots of swimming and talking about art. I was wrong, so very very wrong. Seeing as the show ended its run almost 10 years ago we should look back and see just where those over-sexed and off-kilter roommates have gone. Now I can relate to what the show was about!

James Woods Hits Out At Ambitious Stars

April 5th, 2007 1:05pm EDT
James Woods
Hollywood star James Woods has hit out at fellow actors for stepping outside of their type-casted roles - insisting they should stop being something they are not. The Shark star believes actors should only perform what they're known for, and be happy with the millions of dollars they earn in the process.

He says, "Jim Carrey keeps wanting to do drama. I say shut up and just do comedy, make $100 million and relax. Actors always want to be the thing they are not. People ask why Julia Roberts is such a big star. It's because she's pretty and she smiles. That's kind of a simplistic assess...
