The impossible happens when Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) meets a man who's so fabulous that she attempts to give up smoking for him. Throwing out her smokes and slapping on the patch, Carrie makes a go of it with Aidan (John Corbett), a non-smoking furniture designer who's so cute that he could convince Phillip Morris to begin funding lung cancer research. Samantha (Kim Cattrall) realizes that some changes are impossible when the sister of an African-American man she's dating tells her that Samantha's not right for her brother by virtue -- or vice -- of her skin color. Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) faces up to her own intransigence when she won't make time to support Steve (David Eigenberg) at his basketball game, which annoys him to no end. Charlotte (Kristin Davis) is also annoyed, in this case with her new guy, Brad (Ross Gibby), who kisses with the grace and intricacy of a blind and thirsty bloodhound. And Carrie's gay friend, Stanford (Willie Garson), makes a sporadic appearance, this time while dating a guy (Donald Berman) whose fanaticism for his doll collection reaches a fever pitch when Stanford breaks one of the dolls during an enthusiastic bedroom session.
