Sealab 2021 Summary
A remake of the Hanna-Barbera animated series, "Sealab 2020," telecast during the 1972-1973 season on NBC. The year is 2021, and deep below the ocean's surface lies a vast, high-tech compound: Sealab. This multinational effort has been designed to explore the viability of underwater colonization and uncover the mysteries of the sea. Unfortunately, it's run by a bunch of incompetents.
Leading the operation is Captain Hank Murphy, the son of a famous admiral; mildly paranoid and slightly childish, he has no business running a multi-trillion dollar operation. He is joined by Derek "Stormy" Waters, an arrogant, dim son of privilege; Jodene Sparks, a convict serving time at Sealab while still operating a blackmarket distillery under the sea; and Debbie DuPree, a marine biologist annoyed by the fact that the male crew members dismiss every one of her ideas. Rounding out the crew of Sealab 2021 are Marco Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar Gabriel Garcia Marquez, a former Navy SEAL and smooth operator who has been brought in run secretely the entire place and keep Murphy on track for promotion, and Dr. Quentin Q. Quinn, a serious scientist who is constantly frustrated because no one else at Sealab seems to take his or her job very seriously.
