The case offers Grace and Perry an opportunity to utilize their expertise in gambling-related crimes from the vice days. It also gives Bobby a chance to reconnect with his dad and Ham a chance to connect with a kindred spirit. But Grace's attention is drawn towards Rhetta, when she learns something unexpected about Ronnie.

The squad investigates the death of a parole officer with secrets, while Grace and her brother Johnny finally track down Neely, the young addict who shares visions of Earl. Meanwhile, Rhetta decides to make some personal changes in the wake of her troubles at home.

When a prominent doctor and philanthropist fatally wounds an intruder in his house, the search is on for the intruder's accomplice. But there is something about the doctor's story that just doesn't gel with Grace. Meanwhile, Rhetta and Ronnie have it out once and for all. Ham breaks some interesting news to Grace. What appears to be a staged suicide of a court reporter has the entire squad looking for a killer who may be a member of the same alcoholics support group as the victim. Grace continues to try her best to make a connection with Neely, who remains in a coma. Rhetta and her husband, Ronnie, face losing the farm that has been a part of Rhetta's family for a century.

A bomb goes off at St. Augustine, the church where Grace's brother Johnny serves as priest. Rhetta is distraught over family issues, but she's convinced that if she can find the time capsule she and Grace buried on her farm when they were children, everything will turn out okay. Grace continues spending time at Neely's bedside, while Earl has apparently been spending time with Neely in a more festive atmosphere.

Grace feels burdened after the family members of a dead rodeo rider bring his body to her house in order to find out how he died.

During a case that puts Grace's spirituality to the test, the squad investigates the murder of a Hasidic Jew whose body is found near a herd of dead cows. Meanwhile, Grace tries to connect with Neely, and Ham's sister-in-law, Amanda, struggles to get over the death of her husband.

When Grace tries to reach out to Neely - the young drug addict who shares visions of Earl - Grace winds up in the middle of what could be a plot by an anti-government group linked to the recent death of a police officer. Grace's clumsy, off-the-books investigation goes especially bad when Neely is injured. Meanwhile, Grace and Ham get caught in a compromising position, and Butch makes a surprise announcement.
