Australian rockers INXS have replaced frontman J.D. Fortune with Snow Patrol collaborator Ciaran Gribbin.

Fortune won his place in the band in 2005 after triumphing in TV talent search Rock Star INXS, but he was booted from the line-up in 2009 and forced to seek help for a drug abuse problem that was spiraling out of control.

He was invited back to join the "Original Sin" hitmakers as Michael Hutchence's permanent replacement in January - but the reunion didn't last and he was not invited to join the group in the studio as they embarked on plans for their new music.

Australian rockers INXS have kicked singer J.D. Fortune out of the band - leaving him broke and homeless.

The Canadian artist, real name Jason Dean Bennison, was chosen as the replacement for late rocker Michael Hutchence after winning a reality TV search in 2005. However, after completing a world tour with the New Sensation hit-makers, 35-year-old Fortune claims he was simply abandoned - and is now living in his car.

Rocker Dave Navarro has dismissed former bandmate Perry Farrell's claims his reality TV show Rock Star broke up Jane's Addiction. Guitarist Navarro claims the frontman has his timings mixed up, as he wasn't approached to make Rock Star until he was recording with his new band The Panic Channel, which also features Jane's Addiction bassist Chris Chaney and drummer Stephen Perkins.

Farrell said, "My band broke up basically over reality TV, and I just couldn't believe it."

Rocker Perry Farrell has blamed bandmate Dave Navarro's reality TV talent contest Rock Star: INXS for breaking up Jane's Addiction. The frontman reveals the group fell apart when guitarist Navarro started co-hosting the reality series, which found singers for INXS and Tommy Lee supergroup Rock Star: Supernova.

Farrell admits he "just couldn't believe it" when Navarro announced he was fronting a mainstream TV show.

New INXS frontman J.D. Fortune has had a bust-up with his bandmates - after trying to change the name of the rock legends. Fortune, who replaced late lead singer Michael Hutchence after winning 2005 talent show Rock Star: INXS, wanted to name the band Farriss Brothers, after bandmember brothers Tim, Jon and Andrew Farriss.

British reality TV guru Mark Burnett is being sued by a woman who claims he stole her idea for hit US talent show Rock Star.

Producer Sharlene Sullivan Alleges She Registered A Show Synopsis Called Rock Star With The Writers Guild Of America, in which "lead vocalists for rock bands would compete and would be judged by well known musicians/rock stars" in 2002.

Sullivan was then appalled when she learned all about Survivor and The Apprentice creator Burnett's show of the same name - with the same format.

INXS claimed they are owed $375,847 by the Australian producers of hit TV show Rock Star: INXS in a Sydney court today. The band is currently being sued for $5.6 million by producers David Edwards and Michael Murchison who are also the band's former managers.

Edwards and Murchison executive produced "Rock Star: INXS," a TV talent show which helped the band find a new frontman to replace original singer Michael Hutchence, who died in November 1997.

With a flurry of multiple sell outs for its "Switched On" tour, INXS is adding six more dates in the South -- plus a second night in New York City -- to the first leg of their 2006 North American tour.
