INXS Have A New Lead Singer

Australian rockers INXS have replaced frontman J.D. Fortune with Snow Patrol collaborator Ciaran Gribbin.

Fortune won his place in the band in 2005 after triumphing in TV talent search Rock Star INXS, but he was booted from the line-up in 2009 and forced to seek help for a drug abuse problem that was spiraling out of control.

He was invited back to join the "Original Sin" hitmakers as Michael Hutchence's permanent replacement in January - but the reunion didn't last and he was not invited to join the group in the studio as they embarked on plans for their new music.

Rocker Dave Navarro has dismissed former bandmate Perry Farrell's claims his reality TV show Rock Star broke up Jane's Addiction. Guitarist Navarro claims the frontman has his timings mixed up, as he wasn't approached to make Rock Star until he was recording with his new band The Panic Channel, which also features Jane's Addiction bassist Chris Chaney and drummer Stephen Perkins.

Farrell said, "My band broke up basically over reality TV, and I just couldn't believe it."

Former Baywatch star David Charvet and Rock Star: Supernova host Brooke Burke are engaged and expecting a child together. Charvet proposed during a "summer party" he threw on Saturday night, according to Burke. She tells People, "It was a total surprise. It was all very romantic. He's my best friend."

Charvet gave his new fiancee an eternity band engagement ring because "it's forever" says Burke. The couple, who are both 34, have known each other for years, but only started dating last year, during Rock Star: INXS.

Due to phenomenal public demand, INXS have announced two more UK dates to their 2006 Intimate European "Switched On" Tour. The two shows include the first and only concert in Glasgow at the Barrowland Ballroom on Saturday 4th November, and a newly added second London gig at Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Monday 6th November.

New Season of 'Rock Star' To Feature Motley Crue, Metallica, Guns N' Roses Members

Musicians from some of the biggest American rock bands have joined forces to form a new band, Supernova, and will use CBS's "Rock Star" (working title) as the competition to determine the new lead singer. Supernova will feature drummer Tommy Lee (Motley Crüe), Jason Newsted (Metallica) and Gilby Clarke (Guns N' Roses). The second edition 'Rock Star' will premiere this summer.

With a flurry of multiple sell outs for its "Switched On" tour, INXS is adding six more dates in the South -- plus a second night in New York City -- to the first leg of their 2006 North American tour.

Tour producers Metropolitan Talent Presents announced today that tickets go on sale the weekend of November 11 for the following INXS concerts: Norfolk (2/20), Charlotte (2/21), Atlanta (2/22), Jacksonville (2/24), Clearwater (2/25), Boca Raton (2/26) and New York (2/13).
