Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller is in the process of turning the cult TV series into a musical.

The acclaimed supernatural comedy-drama, starring Anna Friel, Lee Pace and Kristin Chenoweth, ran in the U.S. for just two seasons, but avid fans are still hoping to resurrect the series.

Fuller has now revealed he is planning to make devotees' wishes come true with plans to create a stage version of the show.

He says, "I've had conversations very recently with (executive producer/director) Barry Sonnenfeld about financing a film, and with Kristin Chenoweth and Warner Brothers about devel...

Anna Friel: 'I Don't Have Two Nannies'

October 31st, 2011 1:19pm EDT
Anna Friel
Actress Anna Friel has denied reports she's recruited two nannies to look after her six-year-old daughter while she works.

The Pushing Daisies star attracted barbed comments from online critics earlier this year when she revealed she relies on outside help with the pressures of raising Gracie, her daughter with ex-boyfriend David Thewlis.

But now she's spoken out to silence the gossips, insisting rumors she employs two nannies at the same time were sparked by a misunderstood quote.

Friel tells Britain's Sunday Express, "I don't have two nannies. Let me put the record straight right no...

February 28th, 2011 8:43am EST
Anna Friel
Actress Anna Friel has confirmed speculation she's dating Rhys Ifans, just two months after splitting from David Thewlis.

The Pushing Daisies actress parted ways from Harry Potter star Thewlis late in 2010 after nine years together. Friel and Ifans sparked rumors of a romance earlier this month after he was photographed wearing a bathrobe outside her Hollywood home.

The stars reportedly grew close since they started filming Peter Pan prequel Neverland in September - and now they've gone public with their romance.

They were snapped arm in arm outside Hollywood hotel Chateau Marmont an...

Anna Friel & David Thewlis Split After Nine Years

December 13th, 2010 10:03pm EST
Anna Friel
Pushing Daisies star Anna Friel and Harry Potter actor David Thewlis have split after nine years together, according to U.K. reports.

The pair was rocked by allegations of an affair after Friel was photographed embracing Joseph Cross, her co-star in a London stage production of Breakfast At Tiffany's, in December 2009.

The Brits both downplayed the rumors, insisting Cross was Friel's close pal who was staying at the actress' home. They both kept their own properties throughout their romance.

However just a year later, the stars - who are parents to five-year-old daughter Gracie - have de...

Dirty Sexy Money
Most of America is cutting corners these days - bringing lunch to work, cooking looking for happy hour specials, perusing the sale rack. But if there's one vestige of indulgence left, it is spying on the scandals and seductions of the Darling family of ABC's Dirty Sexy Money, which returns July 18.

The show was canceled in the spring, but the network was kind enough to burn off the remaining episodes, as it has already done this summer with the dearly departed Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone.

In the television landscape of reality competition shows and barely unscripted reality shows, ...

Emmy Nomination Surprises, Snubs And Shouldn't Be Nominated

July 16th, 2009 3:17pm EDT
How I Met Your Mother
To paraphrase Ned Flanders, apparently an Emmy nomination is easier to get than an acceptance letter from Arizona State.

This morning, Emmy tried to one-up Oscar's new rule of ten by including six nominees in the acting categories and a whopping seven in the series categories. Yes, if you made a television series this year, or appeared on one, chances are you heard your name called in North Hollywood this morning.

With so many nominess, it seems impossible that any deserving performances or series were left out. Right? Sadly, no. And, of course, there are plenty of nominees who sh...

Anna Friel Laments Thewlis' Marriage Snub

June 1st, 2009 3:02pm EDT
Anna Friel
Anna Friel has found it "tough" to put her romantic fantasies aside and accept her long-term beau David Thewlis may never marry her.

Friel has been dating the Naked actor since 2001 and they have a four-year-old daughter, Gracie, together. The couple has always maintained marriage is not a priority for them, and the Pushing Daisies star admits she has found it hard to come to term with her partner's views on matrimony - as she has always dreamed of a big, white wedding.

Friel says, "From the beginning of my relationship with David, I promised myself I'd never try to change him. ...

10 Reasons To Keep 'Chuck' On The Air

April 21st, 2009 10:30am EDT
There's been a lot of discussion about the fate of reluctant spy Chuck Bartowski lately. Of the other shows that were picked up in that ill-fated 2007-08 season, only CBS's sitcom The Big Bang Theory and the CW's soapy Gossip Girl have survived. Ouch. Worse, most of those shows, like Pushing Daisies, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Life met the axe this year (though the jury's still out on Life, it doesn't look good.) With Jay Leno taking over five hours of the NBC schedule a week (seriously, whose genius idea was that?), things aren't looking good for the once proud Peacock. Here are ten ...

Christina Applegate Confident 'Samantha Who?' Will Survive

March 27th, 2009 9:04am EDT
Christina Applegate
Christina Applegate is confident her TV show Samantha Who? will survive the network axe a second time, and return for a third season later this year.

Despite the cancellation of a string of ABC shows including Life On Mars, Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money, network chiefs are keeping faith with the comedy show. Back in October they commissioned an extension to the second season.

And Applegate is hopeful the cast will all return for season three. She tells AOL Television, "No, no. They're very hush-hush over there. Believe you me, I try to get it out of everybody as much as I ...

'Star Trek' Returning To TV?

March 23rd, 2009 3:29pm EDT
Star Trek
Cult sci-fi series Star Trek is set for a return to the small screen - a Hollywood writer is looking to produce a new TV show to tie in with the upcoming movie.

The space age series, starring William Shatner, became a cult hit after it first aired in 1966 and has spawned six spin-off shows and 10 films.

A new prequel movie, directed by Lost creator J.J. Abrams, is set to hit cinemas this summer and Pushing Daisies screenwriter Bryan Fuller is hoping to capitalize on the film's success with a new spin-off TV series.

He says, "I told my agent and told the people of J.J. Abrams'...

What To Watch In March? Spotlight On Mid-Season Shows

March 4th, 2009 9:37am EST
Once upon a time in a magical land called Hollywood, harried and somewhat unkempt writers bit their nails down to the quick awaiting news on if their pilots would receive full season orders, be given solid "Nos," or worse: be relegated to the limbo that is "mid-season replacement" territory.

Such shows aren't guaranteed to air at all, particularly if the initial fall line-up (the shows that network executives felt had the most potential) succeeds. And if mid-season shows do get a shot after premature cancellations, there is no guarantee they will find an audience, considering so many ...

Art Imitating Life Imitating Art: Q&A With 'Pushing Daisies' Writers Chad & Dara Creasey

January 9th, 2009 11:31am EST
Pushing Daisies
At first the tale of this up-and-coming Hollywood power couple sounds like the plot to one of the romantic comedies they've made their "bread and butter on." They met in the Peter Stark producing program at USC, started writing together, fell in love, got married, started writing for television, moved to a house in the Hollywood Hills and lived happily ever after. Not bad for a couple in their late twenties. How did "a pseudo-intellectual Jew from the Upper East Side," and a man "from the plains of Colorado" get so lucky?

"Chad and I come from extremely different backgrounds," said ...

Spotlight On Joel McHale Of 'The Soup'

January 5th, 2009 10:02am EST
Joel McHale
You can't help but laugh, and almost pee your pants sometimes, when watching Joel McHale on E! Television's The Soup as he endlessly makes fun of celebrities with absolutely no remorse. It's usually the "faux-lebrities" and reality show stars who have it coming to them anyways. It's funny to hear his jabs at Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Ryan Seacrest and Tyra Banks!

About his hosting job on The Soup, Joel McHale has said, "I've always made fun of television shows and how ridiculous some celebrity behavior is, but I never thought my job would be commenting on it. There's a side of me th...

Blair Underwood: 'Dirty Sexy Money' Is Canceled'

December 31st, 2008 9:46am EST
Blair Underwood
Dirty Sexy Money star Blair Underwood has confirmed the struggling show is set to be axed - despite network executives refusing to admit it's been canceled.

The show, which airs on ABC, is reportedly one of several shows the broadcaster is considering for the chop, including Eli Stone - which stars Angelina Jolie ex Jonny Lee Miller. Pushing Daisies executive producer Bryan Fuller announced in November his show had also been canceled from ABC's schedule due to poor ratings. And although TV bosses haven't officially stated the show will end, actor Underwood, who plays Simon Elder in th...

TV Wish List for 2009

December 29th, 2008 12:37pm EST
True Blood
It is time to bid farewell to the television of 2008 and welcome 2009 with open arms, but let it be with a sweet, friendly warning. TV viewers are fickle. One day we'll love your show, and the next we'll hate it. Sometimes all you have to do is steer a little off course, or introduce an irritating character, and then we abandon you to the cold. Yet TV viewers can be fiercely loyal, sticking to a show through seasons of awful dialogue just because we remember when it was great. The Writer's Strike put a real damper on new shows and old shows alike this year, but 2009 has a clean new slate to...

November 21st, 2008 9:47am EST
Pushing Daisies
Popular TV show Pushing Daisies has been canceled, according to the series' executive producer Bryan Fuller.

The news comes amid reports TV executives at ABC have scrapped a host of hit shows including Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money after a slump in ratings. And although it has not been confirmed whether law comedy Eli Stone, which recently featured a cameo from Katie Holmes, and Dirty Sexy Money have been pulled, Fuller admits his show will no longer run on the small screen.

Pushing Daisies, starring British actress Anna Friel, is about a pie-maker who has the power to bring th...

Spotlight On Kristin Chenoweth

November 12th, 2008 10:00am EST
Kristin Chenoweth
With the voice of an angel and enough charm to wrap cynical Aaron Sorkin around her little finger, Kristin Chenoweth has spent a long time in the celebrity spotlight, yet always just on the outer edges.

Born Kristi Dawn Chenoweth 40 years ago, this Oklahoma-born girl got her start singing in church choirs and studying voice at Oklahoma City University. She earned a degree in musical theater and a MA in opera, and she then moved into pageant life by getting runner-up in the Miss Oklahoma contest of 1991 - a loss that she still jokes about fake-bitterly in interviews.

Kristin was ...
