Thanksgiving is a few short weeks away, and before you slice into those turkeys, let’s take a look back at the new TV shows that are thriving and those that don’t have a Thanksgiving prayer. We’ll break it down by category.

Justified fans can get their Ava Crowder fix when Joelle Carter appears on NBC's Prime Suspect.

Carter plays Louise Iannacone, the wife of a stockbroker who becomes Detective Jane Timoney (Maria Bello)'s first suspect when he's murdered, in the episode entitled "Great Guy, Yet: Dead." It will air Thursday, October 13 at 10 PM ET/PT on NBC, with a re-air that Saturday, October 15 at 9 PM ET/PT.

The crime thriller "Person Of Interest" centers on a presumed dead former-CIA agent who teams up with a mysterious billionaire to prevent violent crimes by using their own brand of vigilante justice.

Michael Emerson, famous for playing the wicked Benjamin Linus on "Lost," plays a computer programmer, while Jim Caviezel is the ex-CIA agent.

Labor Day is over, signaling the unofficial end of summer and the start of the new TV season. While television is somewhat entertaining during June, July, and August, it's the fall debuts that many TV addicts anticipate.

Maria Bello's famous friends helped raise thousands of dollars for aid efforts in Haiti by attending the actress' star-studded charity gala in New York over the weekend.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor star hosted the Hamptons for Haiti fundraiser at the Ross School in East Hampton, New York on Sunday in aid of her We Advance organization, which helps Haiti's earthquake survivors.

NBC Announces New Fall TV Shows, 2011-12 Schedule

NBC just introduced its 2011-12 primetime schedule, showcasing six new dramas and six new comedies from a roster of renowned hitmakers that includes Steven Spielberg, Lorne Michaels, Brian Grazer, Tom Werner, John Grisham and Peter Berg, among many others.

NBC Leads Television Critics Association Nominations

The Television Critics Association today unveiled its 2007 TCA Award nominations. Once again, NBC leads the list with 13 nominations on the strength of its strong freshmen series, including, "30 Rock," "Friday Night Lights" and "Heroes," which garnered 12 nominations total. Third-year comedy "The Office" received the other nod.

Other newcomers also received recognition. ABC's "Ugly Betty" received three nominations while Showtime's "Dexter" netted a pair. ABC Family saw success in children's programming with their series "Lincoln Heights" and "Kyle XY."
