Dance Floor Royalty
The songwriters must step up their game as they write dance club anthems that will be judged by the disco queen herself, Donna Summer. The contestants perform their songs at a Hollywood hotspot to see if they can get the dance floor moving, but one songwriter proves to be a dud in the club.Blessing Offor was eliminated from competition.
The contestants are faced with a hook challenge inspired by the classic American road trip. The contestants hit the highway in search of creativity, but end up testing their patience instead. The pressure hits a breaking point when guest judge Natasha Bedingfield brings one team to the brink of tears.Karen Waldrup was eliminated.

The songwriters are challenged to write a love song and a surprise twist changes the game for the first time in the competition. We Are Risk Takers
The songwriters go to the streets of Los Angeles to partake in the riskiest challenge of the season as they busk their way at a chance to win. One songwriter gambles away a chance for success when a surprise forces the contestants to show their artistic versatility before the judges, including songwriter Bonnie McKee.Jackie Tohn was eliminated this week.
Somebody is Lying
The hook challenge is taken up a notch this week, with perhaps the most difficult competition of all. Songwriters must pitch their songs to hit songwriters Gavin DeGraw and Evan Bogart. Kiss the Flame
Empowerment is the name of the game, with five remaining songwriters using one of Jewel's favorite lyrics to create a song. One team has trouble finishing, and the other has problems communicating the message. The winner's reward will be a feature in SPIN magazine, while the loser must plead their case to the judges, which includes Grammy winning singer-songwriter Colbie Calliat - making it an emotional tear soaked battle to make it to the final four.The song "Reign" was the winner of the night, with Scotty Granger responsible for hook, Sonyae Elise and Nick Nittoli contributors.Nick Nittoli was selected as the artist with outstanding contribution and will appear in a feature in Spin magazine.Brian Judah was eliminated from the competition.
The final four contestants work individually to come up with the best pop tune to be performed for pop music's biggest listeners - high school students. This competition will decide the final three who'll move into the finale next week. Nick Nittoli was elminated from the competition.
The Winner Takes It All
