The "One Life To Live" and "All My Children" premiere took place in New York City on Tuesday, and several popular daytime soap stars attended the red carpet event.

Former "Jersey Shore" star Jenni "JWoww" Farley turned up in a curve hugging black dress with pink flowers on the bodice. She landed a recurring role as a bartender on ABC's "One Life To Live," which returned with new episodes last month.

'General Hospital' Leads 2012 Daytime Emmy Award Nominations

Soap opera General Hospital has been tipped for glory at the 2012 Daytime Emmy Awards after scooping a whopping 23 nominations.

The long-running medical drama, which is up for the highly-coveted Outstanding Drama Series trophy, also landed nods in the best lead actor and actress categories for Maurice Bernard, Anthony Geary and Laura Wright.

Tying for second place were children's show Sesame Street and TV soap The Young and the Restless, which received 16 nominations a piece, while Days of Our Lives is up for 15.

It's going to be a miserable Thanksgiving holiday for fans of beloved soaps All My Children and One Life To Live - plans to resurrect the long-running TV shows online have been scrapped.

All My Children wrapped up its 41-year run in September and One Life to Live will shut down in January - but fans were hoping both soaps would live on as web series.

However, bosses at Hollywood production company Prospect Park have abandoned plans for an online-only resurrection of the shows, despite signing deals with many leading cast members.

Axed soaps All My Children and One Life To Live are set to go out with a bang after scoring a combined total of 25 nominations for the 2011 Daytime Emmy Awards.

Earlier this year, ABC network bosses announced All My Children will come to an end in September after 41 years on air, while One Life To Live will also be scrapped following a 43-year run.

A representative for Ryan Phillippe has shot down reports the star is set to quit acting to move behind the camera, insisting he is staying put in Hollywood.

Ryan Phillippe has announced plans to end his acting career after nearly 20 years in the spotlight.

The 36-year-old star began acting as a teenager and found fame in 1992 playing a gay youth in American daytime drama One Life to Live. He went on to enjoy a stellar Hollywood career with films including Cruel Intentions, Gosford Park and Oscar-winning drama Crash.

Actress-turned-TV personality Kelly Ripa is devastated about the cancellation of her former show All My Children, calling the shock axe "like losing a member of your family."
