Warning: There Are NCIS Season 13 Spoilers Below

According to the Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Gary Glasberg hinted at a possible Ziva David return.

"Down the road, we'll continue to delve into the love life of Tony DiNozzo, and there might be some surprises for peop...

‘NCIS’ Season 12 Episode 4 Recap: Heads Will Roll

10/15/2014 8:49am EDT
‘NCIS’ Season 12 Episode 4 Recap: Heads Will Roll
What a transition from last week’s episode focusing on young Ducky. This week’s “NCIS” episode, titled “Choke Hold,” focused on bodies, well more like heads, dropping like flies.

Not only did we see a few gruesome deaths thanks to quite the contraption aka a wire noose, we also saw the reappearance of Russian Deputy Ambassador Anton Pavlenko and the mention of mercenary/terrorist Sergei Michnev.

Last time we saw Sergei, Gibbs promised to find him first. Well, we’re pretty sure after this week’s murder investigation, Gibbs is going to go above and beyond to take down this terrorist.

The e...

‘NCIS’ Season 12 Episode 3 Recap: The Young Duck

10/8/2014 8:38am EDT
‘NCIS’ Season 12 Episode 3 Recap: The Young Duck
After 11 seasons of watching Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard sport those bow ties and work his magic as NCIS’ medical examiner, fans finally got a glimpse into the life of a young Ducky during Tuesday’s episode.

Played by Adam Campbell (“Harper’s Island”), back in the day Donald Mallard was quite the different man than we’re used to. From dancing around with his best friend to hating on bow ties to not wanting to ever look at another dead body again, he definitely transformed from a young duck into a beloved drake. One element that became apparent throughout the episode? Ducky was and always wi...

‘NCIS’ Season 12 Premiere Recap: The Russian Terminator

9/24/2014 9:37am EDT
‘NCIS’ Season 12 Premiere Recap: The Russian Terminator
The Russian is coming. The premiere episode of “NCIS” Season 12 started off with what was supposed to be a routine escort of a team member back to D.C., but a group of dangerous Russian mercenaries had other plans.

The episode opens in Moscow, Russia with the familiar faces of Alex Veadov and Lev Gorn as mercenary Sergei Michnev and Deputy Ambassador Anton Pavlenko, respectively. Pavlenko suspects Sergei’s been following and Agent Gibbs will “remain personal. Deeply personal.”

And we’re off. Let’s break it down bullet by bullet.

The A-Team
Vance informs Gibbs that Kevin’s in Russia to s...

China Censors 'The Big Bang Theory,' Other U.S. Shows For Promoting Criminal Activities

5/20/2014 7:00pm EDT
China Censors 'The Big Bang Theory,' Other U.S. Shows For Promot
China has pulled several U.S. shows from video streaming websites, claiming the programs contain harmful content.

The State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT) made the order last week to remove "The Big Bang Theory," "The Good Wife" and "NCIS," from public viewing.

It's not known exactly why the watchdog group made the move, although officials have been planning to increase censorship of foreign content, a source told The Hollywood Reporter.

There was a public outcry following the ban, prompting SAPPRFT officials to claim they pulled the programs o...

Fall TV 2014: A Night By Night Comparison Of What May And May Not Work

5/15/2014 2:40pm EDT
Fall TV 2014: A Night By Night Comparison Of What May And May No
Now that all the big networks have revealed what they’ll be showing us this fall, let’s take a look at what may or may not work.

ABC is essentially playing it safe, and keeping Sunday Night intact. American Crime will swap for Resurrection at midseason. Resurrection was a buzzy drama that started seeing a ratings decline. Not waiting till midseason is probably a smart move. You don’t want to lose any more audience. It’s not a winning strategy, but ABC just doesn’t want to be in last place.

NBC has football, another super safe move. CBS is shaking things up, banishing Amazing Race...

CBS Renews A Ton Of Shows

3/13/2014 3:16pm EDT
The Good Wife
CBS issued renewals to NCIS, NCIS: LA, CSI, Criminal Minds, Person Of Interest, Elementary, Hawaii Five-O, Blue Bloods, The Good Wife, 2 Broke Girls, The Millers, Mom, Mike and Molly, Two and a Half Men, The Amazing Race, Survivor, Undercover Boss, 60 Minutes, and 48 Hours. Add to that the renewal of The Big Bang Theory, and CBS just renewed a whopping 20 shows.

Not being picked up, but still not cancelled, are The Mentalist, Intelligence, Hostages, and The Crazy Ones. I would definitely rule out Intelligence and Hostages. Both failed to grab huge audiences. I think The Mentalist will prob...

'NCIS's' Rocky Carroll: One Of TV's Great Performers

3/11/2014 12:10pm EDT
'NCIS's' Rocky Carroll: One Of TV's Great Performers
Rocky Carroll has been a welcome presence in our homes since he joined the cast of CBS's medical drama Chicago Hope in 1996 as determined doctor Keith Wilkes. The year after that show ended, we fell in love with him all over again as CIA bureaucrat Carl Reese in the network's short-lived and underappreciated The Agency. Late next month, it'll be six years since he first appeared on NCIS as then-Assistant Director Leon Vance, a role he's also played on NCIS: Los Angeles and Hawaii Five-0. BFTV sat down with Rocky last week to discuss his tenure as Vance and the longevity of NCIS.

"When I st...

TV Ratings: Football Scores Another Touchdown

11/22/2013 4:30am EST
In a week filled with little competition, NBC’s ‘Sunday Night Football’ easily outpaced ‘NCIS’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory’ to top the week’s ratings chart. With 27 million viewers, football garnered nearly 7 million more viewers than its nearest competitor.

Other than CBS dominating the Top 20 (‘NCIS: Los Angeles,’ ‘Person of Interest,’ ’60 Minutes,’ ‘Blue Bloods,’ ‘The Millers,’ etc.), the other news was the mix of what was left. AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ did well with 12 million viewers, while NBC squealed with ‘Glee’ at ‘The Voice’ and FOX had ‘The OT’ in the Top 5. Over on ABC, ‘Dancing W...

'NCIS' Review 11.3: Twitter To The Rescue

10/10/2013 9:31am EDT
A Twitter-savvy NCIS 11.3 last night, in which the social medium played a crucial role in nabbing LTJG Terrence Keith in the small plane he was flying, laden with explosives and heading for the USS Benjamin Franklin.

The title of the episode - "Under the Radar" - captures NCIS's problem: this small plane is able to fly under the radar and therefore NCIS's detection.  McGee, who's in the doghouse because he lost his credentials, comes up with a brilliant idea: let the Twitter-verse know about this plane, and ask anyone who sees it flying overhead to tweet about it with an appropriate hashta...

'Bones' 9.3 And 'NCIS' 11.2: Sweets and Ziva

10/2/2013 4:06pm EDT
John Francis Daley in Bones
What do Lance Sweets and Ziva David have in common, you might ask?  Certainly Ziva has never made an appearance on Bones - she's not even on the same network.  But Sweets and Ziva both took leaves from their respective shows this week - Sweets from Bones, Ziva from NCIS - and both series will likely be poorer for it.

The exits of both were handled very well. Sweets wants to work in a precinct of psychology that doesn't entail shooting guns and grilling suspects.   Ziva is put in touch with how every bad person she kills - however justified - leaves innocent loved ones grieving.  In both st...

2013 Fall TV Preview: The Returning Shows On The CW & CBS

9/4/2013 6:00pm EDT
The CW and CBS are complete opposites. The CW shouldn't be in business, and CBS is THE business. The CW aims for teenagers to lose their sh!t on social media. CBS aims for the median age of the people in my office. I've never understood the Blue Bloods audience more than in the last year. My interest in The CW is odd and possibly unhealthy. I'm endlessly fascinated with its shows and attractive actors. I'll watch Reign just for Adelaide Kane. I'm not endlessly fascinated by CBS. CBS lulls me to sleep. I never wrote about Elementary's "Pilot" because I went to sleep mid-episode. I never watc...

TV Ratings: CBS Looks Strong Near Season Finish Line

5/9/2013 9:01am EDT
CBS dominated the late-season week, topped by ‘NCIS’ with more than 18 million viewers. The veteran drama is poised to surpass ‘Sunday Night Football’ as the season’s most-watched program in total viewers. Meanwhile, ‘The Big Bang Theory,’ which placed second for the week, is ready to take the 18-49 crown.

Among shows that beat FOX’s ‘American Idol’ in the all-important demo this week: ‘Big Bang’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ ‘Idol’ placed 9th and 10th, respectively. One interesting thing about this week’s top 10: All broadcast networks had at least one show place. For NBC it was ‘The Voice’ and A...

TV Ratings: CBS Carries The Week

3/28/2013 8:24pm EDT
CBS was tops in the ratings last week, thanks mostly to its most-watched program, ‘NCIS,’ which nabbed more than 19 million viewers and the number one slot. The Eye Network also had three of the top six programs, including ‘NCIS: Los Angeles.’ ‘The Big Bang Theory’ and other hits were in repeats.

Despite a lower-than-usual Spring start, ABC’s ‘Dancing With the Stars’ did well with more than 17 million viewers, besting both editions of FOX’s ‘American Idol’ by several million viewers. That show averaged 12.94 and 11.93 million viewers on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. Remember the da...

Another 'NCIS' Spin-Off In The Works

11/6/2012 3:34pm EST
Network bosses are in talks to develop a second spin-off series of hit crime show NCIS.

The police drama about the country's Naval Criminal Investigative Service, which stars Mark Harmon and Michael Weatherly, premiered in 2003 and has since become one of the most successful international dramas.

TV chiefs at CBS launched an off-shoot of the program called NCIS: LA, featuring Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J, in 2009 and now executive producer Shane Brennan has been tapped to write a two-part episode for the show, which could serve as another spin-off if it is well-received by fans.

FOX Knocks NBC Off 18-49 Perch

11/1/2012 9:46am EDT
Thanks to the World Series, FOX broke NBC’s winning streak in the 18-49 demo last week. It was the least-watched World Series in history, though. The network couldn’t even boast the week’s highest-rated sports program, which belonged to NBC’s Sunday Night Football with 17.73 million viewers. The highest rated game of the series, Game 4, averaged 15.49 million.

FOX also snatched the total viewership crown from CBS, which had won it four weeks running. Still, though network produced the week’s most watched show, ‘NCIS,’ which barely beat football with 17.78 million viewers. The network also ...

TV Ratings: CBS Tops, But NBC Can Sing

10/11/2012 10:45am EDT
NBC dominated the 18-49 demographic again in the second week of the fall TV season. Although it placed third among total viewers, NBC is clearly thriving and is the only network to gain viewership over the year-to-year period.

The Peacock network can herald ‘Sunday Night Football’ as its top-rated show, although ‘NCIS’ on CBS was tops overall with nearly 19 million viewers. NBC also was strong with ‘The Voice,’ good for 8th place.

CBS, meanwhile, won the week among total viewers. ‘The Big Bang Theory’ continued to perform strongly with more than 15 million viewers, while ‘NCIS: Los Angele...

NCIS' Brian Dietzen Talks About His Show And His Charitable Work

6/3/2012 7:15pm EDT
We may know him as NCIS’ Jimmy Palmer, but Brian Dietzen does a lot more than just act. He shares with his what he loves to do in his downtime- volunteer with the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Starpulse: Tell us about your work with the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Brian: There was a kid that a met there at the Children’s Hospital who I hang out with every once in a while in the oncology unit and I got to be friends with him. He is fifteen years old and he has been fighting cancer for a while now and his dad called me the other day and said, “It’s his last day here, he is being dis...

TV Ratings: CBS Dominates With 12 Of The Top 20 Shows

5/24/2012 12:33pm EDT
Mike & Molly
If the latest TV ratings week was a final exam, CBS would get an A+ and NCIS would graduate at the top of the class. The stalwart once again topped the Nielsen ratings, besting all other scripted and reality programming, even as American Idol geared up for its finale.

‘NCIS’ attracted over 19 million viewers and spinoff NCIS: Los Angeles got over 15 million. By comparison, the Wednesday and Thursday editions of "Idol' attracted 17.7 million and 16.4 million, respectively.

CBS had 12 of the Top 20 shows, including Person of Interest, The Mentalist and How I Met Your Mother. Mike & Molly ac...

'Desperate Housewives' Goes Out On A (Relatively) High Note

5/17/2012 9:43am EDT
Desperate Housewives
One of the final weeks of the TV season was a mixed bag for the networks. CBS, FOX and ABC had a few things to croon about, while NBC had to settle for, well, just a couple.

‘NCIS’ continues to outperform its rivals, taking in over 18 million viewers to rank first for the week, which had to make CBS happy. FOX was in the game with both installments of ‘American Idol,’ which placed second and fourth, respectively. And ABC got good numbers from ‘Castle’ and, of course, ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ To boot, ‘Desperate Housewives’ went out on a high note on Sunday, attracting over 11 million view...

CBS Unveils Just Four New Shows For 2012-13 Season; Cancels 'CSI: Miami'

5/16/2012 1:01pm EDT
CBS series Elementary
CBS just announced its new 2012-2013 primetime schedule, which includes four new series. The network is also making four key time period moves.

Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment, commented, "These new series feature a great range of bold concepts, rich characters, big stars and fresh faces. From a new take on Sherlock Holmes to an epic battle for control of 1960s Las Vegas to a working-class point of view in a prestigious law firm, the dramas each have a unique style and sensibility."

The new series are:

-"Elementary," a contemporary take on the legendary detective Sherlock Hol...

TV Ratings: CBS, FOX Dominate, PBS Impresses With 'Sherlock'

5/8/2012 8:36pm EDT
CBS dominated the ratings last week with 14 of the Top 25 programs. But FOX managed to tie it in the 18-49 demo with a 2.2 rating. ‘NCIS’ was tops again, while ‘American Idol’ performed quite strongly, particularly on Wednesday.

‘The Big Bang Theory’ performed well for CBS, making it the most-watched comedy and the third-most watched scripted program after both ‘NCIS’ shows. ‘Person of Interest’ and ‘The Mentalist’ also placed in the Top 10 for the network.

NBC had to settle for 20th place for ‘The Voice,’ its only program to crack the overall Top 20. ABC, meanwhile, found success with ‘M...

TV Ratings: 'Dancing On Top,' 'Game Of Thrones' Hits Season High

5/2/2012 10:07am EDT
'The Big Bang Theory'
CBS, per usual, has reason to celebrate this week. While some of its programs, such as NCIS, were in reruns and attracted fewer viewers than usual, others soared. ‘Person of Interest’ has maintained the momentum it’s been gaining this season and was the network’s top show in 5th place with nearly 13 million viewers. ‘The Big Bang Theory,’ also airing on Thursday, also did well.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ was the top show of the week, while the results show placed 4th. ‘American Idol’ placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Since going live, ‘The Voice’ continues to slip, coming in at #11 with just...

More People Tuned Into 'NCIS' Last Week Than 'American Idol'

4/18/2012 10:28pm EDT
Modern Family
CBS was tops in the ratings this week, fueled by the #1 status of stalwart ‘NCIS,’ which reclaimed the top spot. FOX had to settle for second and fourth place for ‘American Idol,’ respectively. ABC’s ‘Dancing With the Stars’ was typically strong, and ‘Modern Family’ was the network’s most-watched scripted show.

Perhaps Mike Wallace’s death provided a small resurgence for ’60 Minutes,’ which placed 8th for the week, far ahead of any other news magazine show.

This is also the time of year for season and series lows, and quite a few show fell victim to it, particularly ‘The Office,’ which co...

TV Ratings: 'NCIS' Reclaims Top Spot ' While Game Of Thrones' Premiere Scores Big

4/4/2012 10:17am EDT
Once again, every network had at least something to cheer about. CBS had a strong showing, not only from its usual procedurals, but also NCAA basketball over the weekend. It’s not very often a Top 5 show airs on Saturday. That’s barely happened since ‘The Golden Girls’ was on the air.

The network’s ‘NCIS’ was tops with a new episode, but it was followed closely by the new season of ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ That show also helped ‘Castle’ and ‘Body of Proof’ perform stronger than usual.

‘American Idol’ and ‘The Voice,’ in particular, haven’t exactly been reigning lately. The two edit...

TV Ratings: 'NCIS' Tops, 'Mad Men' Sets Record

3/29/2012 10:10am EDT
Mad Men
The return of fresh episodes of ‘NCIS’ vaulted CBS to the top of the ratings heap this week, but every network had something to cheer about. For the first time in who knows how long, each network had at least one show in the Top 7. You might guess that NBC’s top entry was ‘The Voice.’

FOX, of course, had two editions of ‘American Idol’ in the Top 5, and the return of ABC’s ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ while down from the last installment, was the Number 2 program for the week. Its performance propelled ‘Castle’ into the Top 10. Likewise, FOX’s Kiefer Sutherland drama ‘Touch’ eked out a spot i...

Pauley Perrette's Ex-Husband Investigated For Allegedly Violating Restraining Order

3/26/2012 9:58am EDT
Pauley Perrette
Police in Los Angeles are reportedly investigating allegations Pauley Perrette's ex-husband Coyote Shivers violated a restraining order by showing up at a restaurant where the actress was having dinner with her new fiance.

The NCIS star has a restraining order in place against her former partner, actor/musician Shivers, and she reportedly called cops last Tuesday night after allegedly encountering him during a sushi dinner with aspiring actor Thomas Arklie.

Shivers reportedly left the restaurant by the time police arrived, but officials are now investigating whether the restraining orde...

TV Ratings: The Tale Of The Happy Networks

3/21/2012 9:38am EDT
Desperate Housewives
In any given TV week, a TV network could make it sound like they trumped everyone else, that they had something to be proud of. This week, all four major networks could actually mean it.

While the top shows were an also-ran (yep, ‘American Idol’ is perched on top, with ‘The Voice’ close behind and boasting its 18-49 demo), every network had a Top 20 show. NBC didn’t have one besides ‘The Voice,’ but every other network had multiple shows. And that doesn’t happen much these days.

FOX had both weekly editions of ‘American Idol’ as well as Keifer Sutherland’s ‘Touch' (Number 19); CBS had its...
