Check Out The First Trailer For ABC's New Muppets Sitcom!

5/13/2015 11:48am EDT
The Muppets
The Muppets are set to return to television this fall and ABC just released the first trailer.

The half-hour series will be done in a more documentary/reality style, and upon first look all we can think of is The Office -- which means this could be good.

The show is aimed at a more grown-up audience -- namely those who grew up on the original Muppet Show during the late 1970s.

This time around we get to see the characters' personal lives and more behind-the-scenes moments -- like when Rowlf the dog shows up after surgery with the classic "lampshade" collar and says if it weren't for that...

"I am ready to accept the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge from [World Wrestling Entertainment CEO] Vince McMahon -- in which, by the way, he referred to me as a pesky amphibian," Kermit says in his video.

"To which, I reply, 'Oh yeah?!'

"Being an amphibian, it turns out that evidently gett...

Pierce Brosnan
Master thespian Pierce Brosnan never thought he'd ever have the need to show off his fire eating skills professionally until he was invited to appear on The Muppet Show.

The former James Bond studied the circus art at theatre school in his youth just because he thought the class would help him meet attractive women and he was thrilled when TV bosses suggested he show off his party trick during one of the Muppets' final TV variety shows.

He says, "I did The Muppets... after I did the first James Bond movie, and they said, 'We'd like you to be on the show. Do you sing or dance?' and I sai...

Jesse Blaze Snider
Don't judge Jesse Blaze Snider solely by the fact that his father is rock legend Dee Snider.

In fact, don't judge him solely by the fact that he's also a musician. While he is in the family business, he's also a successful comic book writer (Dead Romeo, Hulk, Thor) and TV host (MTV2, Fuse and AOL's Top 11 Countdown). In between his many ventures, Jesse took the time to sit down with me and talk about growing up in the spotlight as well as making a versatile name for himself.

You're working on your first solo album right now. What can people expect from it?

I've been trying to kind of b...

James Earl Jones Thought 'Sesame Street' Would Be A Flop

11/30/2010 10:11am EST
James Earl Jones
Hollywood actor James Earl Jones was convinced long running children's series Sesame Street would be a big flop - because he feared the colorful puppets would be "too scary for kids."

The Star Wars legend joined pal Burt Lancaster to film pilots for the show in 1969, teaching tots how to count and recite the alphabet, but he was sure the then-groundbreaking format would fail to entice young viewers to learn with Jim Henson's Muppets.

He tells the New York Post, "It was Burt Lancaster and I. He had the letters, and I had the numbers, or vice versa. I said to one of the producers, 'You kn...

Workers Ready Balloons For The 84th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (Pics)

11/25/2010 12:51am EST
For most people Thanskgiving Day is about turkey, football and the late afternoon tryptophan coma (a myth that's been debunked - yet we all get sleepy for some reason). But none of it would feel right without starting the day with a little breakfast, a hot cup of coffee and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The yearly American tradition expects 3.5 million people to line the streets of New York City with another 50 million television viewers watching from the comfort of their living rooms.

The parade is most notable for it's gigantic helium ballons, marching bands and dance troupes; as ...

Sesame Street
For nearly 40 years Jim Henson’s Muppets have captivated audiences young and old, whether down the block on Sesame Street, from backstage on their own syndicated variety show, or even on the big screen. This is the story of Jim Henson and how he built his beloved empire from a discarded housecoat and a pair of ping-pong balls.

Quirky Group No More Kings Pays Tribute To 80s Pop Culture

3/20/2007 1:00am EDT
No More Kings
No More Kings, the self-titled first major release, is a positive, upbeat, pop/funk/rock party-in-a-box, full of pop culture references and quirky lyrics. "No More Kings is for anyone who's ever wanted a talking car," says Pete Mitchell, the man behind the band. "This album is very character-driven, very story-based."

A trait he learned as an animator that has carried over into his songwriting is communicating a character's core to an audience. In "Sweep the Leg," for example, Pete digs into the head of Johnny, Daniel-san's nemesis in The Karate Kid, and presents a new way of looking ...
