3/3/2013 4:07pm EST
Mike & Molly
Bosses at CBS have come under fire for airing an episode of Melissa McCarthy's hit comedy series Mike & Molly which has offended members of the Native American community.

During a recent episode, McCarthy's TV mother-in-law Peggy, played by Rondi Reed, made a joke about Native Americans, quipping, "Arizona? Why would I move to Arizona? It's nothing but a furnace full of drunk Indians."

The gag has not been well received by officials of the Navajo Nation, a Native American-governed territory covering portions of northeastern Arizona, southeastern Utah and northwestern New Mexico, and they...

Q&A: Meet 'Mike & Molly' Star Nyambi Nyambi

2/27/2012 11:00am EST
Nyambi Nyambi
On the CBS sitcom Mike & Molly, he's the sharp-witted Samuel...but don't let the fact that he plays a waiter fool you. Actor Nyambi Nyambi has a lot to say.

"The way I like to say it is I've been an actor all my life, but I never called it acting," the Oklahoma native tells me. "I was always cutting up. I'd make fun of our relatives that would come over. I was always doing the loud Nigerian, the quiet Nigerian. Doing skits from In Living Color [and] random impressions. That was how I liked to be around my family."

It wasn't until his senior year at Bucknell University, when he was giving ...

"And I got to buy this house and I literally walk around and wait for the owners to come home and go, ...

Two And A Half Men creator Chuck Lorre will bid farewell to a rocky 2011 when he is inducted into the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame next year.

The series made an impressive comeback with Ashton Kutcher in September, when its debut pulled in a record-breaking 28.7 million viewers.

Now it has been announced the writer, who also came up with hits The Big Bang Theory and Mike & Molly, will become an Academy of Television Arts & Sc...

Melissa McCarthy
Melissa McCarthy is stepping into the fashion industry to launch her own line of plus-size women's clothes.

The heavyset "Bridesmaids" star admits she struggles to find flattering and fashionable outfits, and had to create her own gown for the recent Emmy Awards with designer Daniella Pearl - because there was so little available to her.

The purple dress proved lucky for McCarthy, who collected the honor for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series at the prizegiving for her role in TV sitcom "Mike & Molly."

And now McCarthy is using her eye for design to provide other larger women wi...

What To Watch: Viewers Finally Learn Which ‘Glee’ Cast Member They Will Say Goodbye To Forever (May 15-21, 2011)

5/15/2011 11:15am EDT
The number one thing you need to watch this week is “Glee” because after months of speculation, viewers will finally find out which cast member they will say goodbye to forever. That’s right; in case you haven’t heard, one of McKinley High’s own will face an unexpected loss. Cast and crew have been tight-lipped about who is dying, but viewer guesses include Sue’s sister, Puck and Quinn’s daughter, or Kurt’s dad. Of course, this doesn’t mean it couldn’t be one of the regular cast members; ugh, I cringed at the thought!

‘Amazing Race; Unfinished Business’ wraps up with $1 million winner, ent...

Anatomy Of A TV Season: The Hits & Misses

4/15/2011 12:00pm EDT
Kathy Bates
It’s almost May Sweeps, and season finales will be upon us faster than the networks can cancel soaps. Let’s break it down, network by network, of what succeeded – and what flopped – this TV season.

Let’s start with the weakest network. After the ‘Jay Leno Show’ debacle last season, NBC is still scrambling to find original programming that will net decent ratings.

‘Law & Order: Los Angeles’ has proved a disappointment, as evidenced by its massive overhaul and return to floundering ratings. The comedy ‘Outsourced’ is on the bubble, and shows such as ‘Chase’ and ‘Undercovers’ bombed ...

Star TV Couples for Valentine's Day 2011

2/14/2011 9:31am EST
The Good Wife
The marriage relationship is the staple and backbone of our society—and the same goes for the TV Land universe. Besides the requisite cop and law shows and all the TV trends in between that have come and gone, marriage and family shows have always been the rock. As television shows have evolved (and censorship has denigrated) so have the way couples have been shown relating to each other. Lucy and Ricky Ricardo (I Love Lucy) slept in twin beds and Lucy most times resorted to manipulation to get her way, or she whined and cried until she did. Mike and Carol Brady (The Brady Bunch) never had ...

Fall TV: What's Surviving, What's Thriving, And What's Dying

11/11/2010 10:25am EST
Mike & Molly
We've reached a breaking point in the Fall TV season: almost everything that's still around will likely survive the season (key word: almost). It's becoming clearer which new shows are hits (hint: not many), and there are already several casualties. Let's run down the list.

The already renewed

CBS has picked up all five of their new shows: 'Hawaii Five-O,' 'Mike & Molly,' '@#$% My Dad Says,' 'Blue Bloods' and 'The Defenders.' Each show has performed admirably, but none can be called a runaway hit. CBS, though, has the least holes in its schedule and can be proud that viewership is up ...

11/3/2010 11:56am EDT
After spending the entire weekend with Mike, Molly finally returns home, only to be greeted by Joyce and Victoria, who are desperate for details. Apparently, 'we had a very nice time' doesn't cut it, and poor Molly gets dragged into answering more questions that she ever wanted to.

Mike is on cloud nine after his weekend, and he can't wait to share it with the world- starting of course with Carl's grandma. She's absolutely thrilled for him, happy that Mike is finally doing so well. Carl is just glad that Mike "finally did the nasty". His grandma warns Mike that he needs to show Molly how...

Nikki Blonsky Says Hateful 'Fatties' Article Was 'Completely Out Of Line'

10/30/2010 1:15pm EDT
Nikki Blonsky
"Hairspray" star Nikki Blonsky has added her weight to a new magazine controversy following a "hateful" rant by a Marie Claire online journalist about the fat stars of new TV hit "Mike & Molly."

Blogger Maura Kelly has apologized for comments she made in a MarieClaire.com article, titled 'Fatties Get a Room', in which she blasted TV bosses for putting a show that celebrates an obese couple on the air.

In the article, Kelly claims she would be "grossed out if I had to watch two characters with rolls and rolls of fat kissing each other..." and adds she finds it "aesthetically displeasing to...

Sharon Osbourne Fuming Over 'Fatties' Article

10/28/2010 8:36am EDT
Sharon Osbourne
Sharon Osbourne has fired off a foul-mouthed rant at a journalist over an article which criticizes overweight actors on TV - calling the reporter a "discredit to other women."

The rock matriarch, who has long struggled with her own weight issues, was outraged after reading an article by Maura Kelly, which was posted on MarieClaire.com on Monday. The piece, titled Should 'Fatties' Get a Room? (Even on TV?), discusses the problem of obesity and refers to sitcom Mike & Molly, which focuses on a couple who meet at an Overeaters Anonymous group.

In the article, Kelly claims she would be "gro...

'Mike & Molly' 1x06 Recap: 'Mike's Apartment'

10/27/2010 11:56am EDT
After a date with Mike, Molly isn't quite ready to call it a night; she invites him upstairs to her bedroom, but Mike's a little worried that Joyce and Victoria might still be awake, but Molly assures him that they're probably already in bed. A quick peek inside the house proves her wrong though- the two are on the couch, wearing mud masks and giving her knowing glances. Yeeeah, that's not going to be awkward.
Mike comes up with a better plan- that Saturday, the two of them will go to his place, where they'll be absolutely alone to do whatever they want.

Mike tells Carl and Samuel about ...

'Mike And Molly' 1x04 Recap: 'Mike's Not Ready'

10/12/2010 1:05pm EDT
MAM 104
Mike walks Molly back to her door after an evening at the movies. Molly is laughing about him pulling his badge on someone who was talking through the film- which Mike admits was actually a peppermint patty. Molly is charmed, and invites Molly to come in for a little while- her mom is at a pole dancing class at the senior center and Victoria is out doing who-knows-what they'd have the place to themselves. She kisses Mike, obviously hoping to take things a little bit further, but Mike claims that he has an early morning and leaves Molly disappointed at her doorstep.

The next day at the din...

'Mike And Molly' 1x03 Recap: 'First Kiss'

10/5/2010 9:17am EDT
Mike and Molly © CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved.
It seems like every episode opens with Mike and Carl at the diner, and this time Carl notices that Mike's lost some weight. Mike's feeling much better, health-wise- he's not dieting, but has learned to control his portions. More jokes are made about his weight when Samuel acts unbelieving at Mike's unusually small order.

Mike's planning on asking Molly out that night, but Carl tells him that you should never ask a girl out on the same night you call her. Mike doesn't really care too much about what he says, and is planning on impressing her with his bowling skills. Carl teases him about be...

'Mike And Molly' Recap: 'First Date'

9/28/2010 9:52am EDT
Mike and Molly promo
Aright Mike and Molly, here's hoping you aren't as painful to watch as last week.

The episode picks up (in what I'm guessing is going to end up a regular spot) at the diner. Poor Mike, still trying to eat healthy, has the waiter pour his diet shake into a fancy glass, hoping to trick his mind into thinking he's actually eating something that tastes decent. He tells Carl about finally getting a date with Molly, and the two of them end up stumped on what he should wear.

Carl gives him some (terrible) dating advice, including "bad boys get the yum-yum." Mike's not entirely for it, believing ...
