May 24th, 2012 12:33pm EDT
Mike & Molly
If the latest TV ratings week was a final exam, CBS would get an A+ and NCIS would graduate at the top of the class. The stalwart once again topped the Nielsen ratings, besting all other scripted and reality programming, even as American Idol geared up for its finale.

‘NCIS’ attracted over 19 million viewers and spinoff NCIS: Los Angeles got over 15 million. By comparison, the Wednesday and Thursday editions of "Idol' attracted 17.7 million and 16.4 million, respectively.

CBS had 12 of the Top 20 shows, including Person of Interest, The Mentalist and How I Met Your Mother. Mike & Molly ac...

$16 Million Contract Puts Britney Spears On TV's Top Paid List - Behind Judge Judy

May 10th, 2012 11:03am EDT
Britney Spears
Britney Spears is reportedly set to rake in $16 million as a judge on The X Factor, but the incredible amount isn't nearly enough to put her on top of TV's best paid list.

Assuming The X Factor has the same amount of episodes this season (26), Spears would pocket a bit over $615,000 an episode. That makes her the second highest paid per episode in primetime currently - Ashton Kutcher makes $700,000 an episode for Two and a Half Men. She is also far behind predecessor Charlie Sheen's whopping $1.2 million an episode. It would put her ahead of William Petersen's previous salary on CSI ($600,...

Q&A: Ashley and David Eckstein Celebrate Fandom With 'Her Universe'

March 21st, 2012 11:15am EDT
Her Universe
One of the joys of fandom is being able to share your passions. And thanks to Ashley and David Eckstein, that just got a lot easier (and cooler) for women.

Representing one's fandoms can be a difficult task for the female gender. I say that from experience; I'm all about showing off my allegiances. One of those happens to be to the San Diego Padres, and I went on a rant when there wasn't a T-shirt for my favorite second baseman, a certain David Eckstein. You can imagine my delight to hear that someone that I am a huge fan of was making it easier for me to represent the things I love.

Reports suggest the new deal with Warner Brothers includes a producing credit throughout the fifth season the show.

'The Mentalist' Recap - 'Red Hot'

Mentalist-111709-0001.jpg
It's always great when 'The Mentalist' brings back a character, especially when they happen to be disarmingly charming and smarmy like Walter Mashburn. He was wanted for murder once before, and now it looks like the billionaire might be the one being targeted! The episode starts with Jane and Lisbon being called to a building, but there are no police cars or anything else there. Walter is the one that called them in, because he's about to sign a deal with a competitor named Yuri and Yuri was getting death threats. Walter is excited to finally beat his rival into the ground and buy his compa...

Fall TV Ratings: What's Hot, What's Not

October 8th, 2010 9:30am EDT
Cloris Leachman
We're only two weeks into the fall season, and we have two series cancellations. Let's see if we can keep up this "one canceled show a week" deal. For the record, the goners are FOX's 'Lone Star' and ABC's 'My Generation,' both of which got dismal ratings. Production was also halted on the Jimmy Smits drama 'Outlaw' and it's not looking good for ABC's 'The Whole Truth' either. By next week there will likely be more network victims.

As of this week, no huge new hits have emerged. FOX's 'Raising Hope' is doing fairly well following the hot 'Glee' and was awarded this week with a ...

'The Mentalist' Recap - 'Cackle-Bladder Blood'

October 4th, 2010 4:48pm EDT
Mentalist-111709-0001.jpg
It's common knowledge that it was Patrick Jane's fault that his wife and daughter were brutally murdered by the serial killer Red John, but sometimes due to his pain it's difficult to remember other people suffered too. He's come a long way even in the last season from being very touchy and slightly insane about what happened to his life, and now being able to come to terms with his wife's death in a slightly better way. Last week's episode was about his wife's brother Danny stirring up trouble for Jane and reminding him about how badly he failed his wife.

Danny calls Jane and asks for hel...

California Bureau of Investigation consultant Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) has a blatant lack of protocol but is self-assured and driven in "The Mentalist." The former “psychic” uses his talent for seeing the clues everyone else misses to solve the most baffling crimes.

Why You Should Be Watching ABC's 'Castle'

Why You Should Be Watching ABC
With NBC having Law & Order, CBS living it up with the CSI franchise (not to mention Criminal Minds and NCIS) and FOX having surprise success with Bones, it's no shock that ABC has decided to give the crime drama genre another go after cancelling NYPD Blue in 2005. But this time, the network has decided to go with funny over gritty.

It may not be as edgy as Blue. But Castle, which debuted in March 2009 as a mid-season replacement, is one TV show that people should watch. Or at least put on their DVR list.

On Castle, Über rich and famous and playboy mystery novelist Richard Castle, pla...

Television Characters You
Television shows always try to make their characters compelling, interesting, entertaining, and memorable. The best characters are the ones that the viewers hold on to, and they will keep watching shows for that character even if the writing and acting wanes. Some characters are meant to be feared, some make you angry, and some make you laugh. Here is a look at characters on television that would be fun to get a drink with.
